Daichi Abe vs. Hyun Gyu Lim

Round 1

Abe opens with a kick to the lead leg of the taller man, then backs out of the way of Lim's return fire. Lim lands an outside leg kick but takes a heavy right hand counter from Abe on the way out. Now it's Lim tagging the Japanese fighter with a right, and now both men landing simultaneous hooks. Lim is starting to paw at his right eye when Abe knocks him backward with another big right hand. Two minutes in, Lim comes over the top with a right as the welterweights continue to exchange heavy blows. Lim is throwing rights from the southpaw stance now, leading to clashes and some inaccurate strikes from both men. Abe lunges into range and cracks Lim with a left hook, then follows up with a barrage of punches on the fence. Lim isn't going down, so Abe backs away and invites "The Ace" back to the center. Abe clips Lim on the chin with another left hand but slips to the mat under the force of his own punch.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Abe
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Abe
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Abe

Round 2

Lim snipes at Abe with a long lead jab, answered by Abe with a chopping low kick. Abe goes to the body with a kick, then comes over the top with a nice counter left to a Lim low kick. Abe comes away from the next exchange grabbing at his eyes, having taken a poke from Lim's outstretched left hand. The doctor clears Abe to continue, but Abe wants more time to recover from the foul. Referee Greg Kleynjans calls the physician back in, and Abe gets another minute of additional time as they sort out the confusion. The round resumes with 3:30 on the clock, and the 170-pounders trade low kicks. Lim slips an Abe punch and cracks him with a piston-like right hand which leaves Abe's left cheek swollen immediately. Another straight right from Lim freezes Abe momentarily, and another connects as they hit the two-minute warning. Abe is struggling to find his range against the larger man now, getting plunked with a counter left as he misses with a charging right hand. Lim gets in his best right hand with 40 seconds left, another counter to an Abe low kick. Abe fires off one more right hand before the end of the round, dropping Kim, but he's unable to capitalize before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-10
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Lim
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Lim

Round 3

Lim comes over the top with a right hand that catches the leaning Abe on the left ear, but Abe seems unfazed. The final round is more plodding than the previous two frames, with neither man taking control of the action through the first few minutes. Lim is doing the better work from range, keeping Abe on the end of his jabs and one-twos despite ceding the center of the cage. Abe is starting to look for the homerun shot down the stretch, missing with overhand rights and leaving himself open to Lim's counters. Lim adds some inside leg kicks to the mix, narrowly avoids a head kick. Suddenly, Abe finds the chin of Lim with a big right hand, and Lim goes crashing to the canvas. Lim powers back up under fire, his nose a bloody mess, and Abe tosses him back to the mat just before time expires.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Abe (30-28 Abe)

Shinsho Anzai vs. Luke Jumeau

Round 1

Both welterweights land straight right hands in the opening minute. Anzai dives for an early double-leg but comes up empty as Jumeau immediately circles out of range. Anzai steps inside and pulls down the head of the taller man in the Thai clinch, landing a knee to the chin before Jumeau breaks loose. Jumeau denies another high double from Anzai, who is struggling to get his grappling going here in the first few minutes. Anzai cracks Jumeau with a huge left hook, but "The Jedi" stays standing and clinches Anzai against the fence as he recovers from the heavy blow. Anzai reverses to the outside position, then releases and backs off with 2:00 on the clock. Now it's Jumeau landing a big shot with a sniping right hand that catches "The Animal" shooting forward. Anzai manages to work his way in to clinch anyway, but Jumeau makes him pay with a couple knees to the body. Jumeau's right eye is badly swollen by the end of the round, and Anzai tacks on an extra left hook just before time runs out.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Anzai
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Anzai
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Anzai

Round 2

Anzai succeeds with his first takedown attempt of the round but can't keep Jumeau on the floor. Once they're back up, Anzai slugs Jumeau again with the left hand, and Jumeau is really wearing it on the right side of his face. Jumeau backpedals and ducks low to dodge a high kick from Anzai, who briefly tumbles to the mat but jumps back up. Jumeau clinches Anzai against the wall, but Anzai gets out and comes headhunting with more big, swinging haymakers. Jumeau lands a nice body kick and yanks his leg back before Anzai can get a good hold. Anzai hits a takedown in the center of the cage, straight to Jumeau's half guard as they hit the middle of the round. The pace slows now, Jumeau holding Anzai in a headlock, while Anzai just lands short punches to the body. Anzai gets his head free but the action doesn't really pick up as Jumeau puts him back in full guard. Anzai stands and drops a few punches on Jumeau before the Kiwi is able to get back to his feet. Jumeau tries to get something going with punches in the closing moments but can't find his target.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Anzai
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Anzai
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Anzai

Round 3

Anzai shoots for an early takedown and is denied by Jumeau with the whizzer. The wrestler waits for Jumeau to throw hands, then ducks under the punches to jam him against the fence in the clinch. Jumeau reverses with over-unders, slugs Anzai with a short left hand in the tie-up. Anzai breaks loose and Jumeau walks after him. Jumeau stuffs a takedown, forces Anzai to the canvas, but Anzai springs back to his feet and clings to a single-leg. Jumeau defends the shot and pushes Anzai back to the center of the cage. An overhand right from Anzai connects, and he shoots in behind it to put Jumeau back on the fence. Anzai lands a knee in the clinch before Jumeau is able to reverse. Inside the final two minutes now, Jumeau backs away, surely knowing that he will need a finish to win this fight. Jumeau tries to catch the incoming Anzai with a left high kick, can't hit the mark but does defend the takedown behind it. Anzai shoots for a late takedown, gets stuffed and shoved to the floor with one minute remaining. Anzai stands up, and Jumeau hugs him against the fence as time ticks away. Jumeau lands a few short uppercuts in the tie as time runs out.

Chanmi Jeon vs. Syuri Kondo

Round 1

Kondo presses forward into the pocket, and Jeon is ready with counterpunches, but neither strawweight is landing much clean offense in the opening stages. Kondo starts to find her target with her right hand, now sticks her jab in Jeon's face. Jeon eats the shots well, however, and circles away to reset, bouncing on her toes in front of the local favorite. Kondo continues to stick her right hand to Jeon's face as she charges through the Korean fighter's counters. Jeon picks off Kondo as she steps inside with a good right hook, but Kondo clinches up and then breaks off with a right hand to Jeon's cheek. Kondo gets the final word of the round with a Thai clinch and two knees to the body.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Jeon
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Kondo
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Kondo

Round 2

It's Kondo pressing the action again as round two begins, but Jeon seems to have found her timing now, catching kicks from the Japanese fighter and firing back some good right-handed counters. Kondo keeps coming, constantly charging on the youngster with sit-down right hands. Jeon is starting to show some damage on her face from the punches, but now she thumps Kondo with a good right of her own, followed up with a left hook. Kondo times a kick from Jeon and comes over the top with a long right hand. A jab snaps back Jeon's head before a push kick from Kondo sends her backward a few steps. Kondo is chasing the bloody-nosed Jeon around the cage now, with a nonstop barrage of punches and elbows. Jeon is willing to exchange but doesn't look to be landing as cleanly as Kondo, nor as frequently.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Kondo
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Kondo
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Kondo

Round 3

The opening minute of the round sees Kondo continuing her constant forward motion, although now she's walking into more regular left-handed counters. Kondo's right hand remains the fight's most effective weapon, though, and she refuses to stop lowering her head and charging inside to throw it. Jeon lands a pair of low kicks, one of which is countered by Kondo with a right over the top; Kondo tacks on an extra-hard leg kick of her own at the end of the exchange. Kondo whiffs on a spinning backfist but Jeon can't capitalize. The sloppy exchange ends with Jeon complaining of an eye poke; referee Steve Perceval pauses the fight, but Jeon is ready to resume quickly as they hit the final 60 seconds. Both women are swinging for the fence as time ticks down, but Kondo's attack remains the more varied and effective until the final horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Jeon (29-28 Jeon)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Jeon (29-28 Kondo)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Kondo (30-27 Kondo)

The Official Result

Syuri Kondo def. Chanmi Jeon via Split Decision (30-27, 30-27, 28-29) R3 5:00

Alex Morono vs. Keita Nakamura

Round 1

Morono comes charging across the cage and tries to take off Nakamura's head with a big right hand, but "K-Taro" sees it coming and slips off center. The southpaw Nakamura sits back while righty Morono pumps his jab, eager to strike. The Japanese veteran slips a right from Morono and delivers a counter, then backs Morono away with a kick. Morono connects with an overhand right, but Nakamura takes it on the jaw and continues slowly circling the outside. Morono sits down on another big right, but Nakamura eats this one too. Nakamura lands a body kick that sends Morono backpedaling; "The Great White" is able to recover before Nakamura can capitalize. Nakamura goes back into his defensive stance, moving around the edge of the cage. Morono comes bombing with his right hand again just before the round ends, but Nakamura's left glove is glued to his face.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Nakamura
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Morono
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Nakamura

Round 2

Morono continues to press forward, but his forward pressure consists mainly of a constant flicking jab which does not land, and the occasional power right which Nakamura is able to avoid. Nakamura sticks a hard jab and ducks out of the way to avoid Morono's counter. Morono seems to be looking for one big punch, while Nakamura is waiting to counter, leading to something of a stalemate between the welterweights. Good head movement and a high guard continue to keep Nakamura out of harm's way, even when Morono does get close enough to strike. Nakamura lands a hard body kick in the closing seconds and gets out of the way of Morono's last punches of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Morono
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Morono
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Nakamura

Round 3

Morono presses forward on Nakamura, who largely avoids him for the opening minute before changing levels and completing the first takedown of the fight. Morono rolls to his side and powers back to his feet, using an underhook to defend his back along the way. Nakamura snaps back Morono's head with a straight left hand, then circles away as Morono tries to counter. Morono denies a clinch attempt and elbows Nakamura in the side of the head, opening a cut immediately. Morono jumps guard with a guillotine attempt, loses it almost immediately and then has to slowly work back to his feet as Nakamura tries to take his back. Down to the final 70 seconds, it's Nakamura coming forward boxing Morono around the outside now. Morono, as he has all fight long, continues to pump his left hand in front of him with little discernable effect.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Nakamura (29-28 Nakamura)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Morono (29-28 Morono)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Nakamura (30-27 Nakamura)

Jussier da Silva vs. Yuta Sasaki

Round 1

The first strikes of the bout come from da Silva, who lands an inside leg kick and swipes a right hand across the face of the southpaw Sasaki. "Ulka" takes an overhand right behind the ear, then steps forward to place a kick in da Silva's breadbasket. Sasaki lands another heavy body kick, and this one gets da Silva's attention, as "Formiga" makes sure to cover his right flank in the ensuing exchange. Sasaki scores with a knee to the same spot, takes a right-handed counter from da Silva in exchange. Halfway through the round, da Silva shoots and completes a takedown in the center of the cage. Sasaki holds him in half guard while landing short punches to the sides of the Brazilian's head. Formiga moves to full mount, then back-mount as "Ulka" rolls over, exposing his back. Da Silva secures the position with a body triangle as he hunts for a rear-naked choke with one minute on the clock. Formiga finally applies the choke and squeezes tight; it takes some adjusting, but the Brazilian has the RNC cinched up, and Sasaki has no choice but to tap.

The Official Result

Jussier da Silva def. Yuta Sasaki via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 4:30

Rolando Dy vs. Teruto Ishihara

Round 1

Ishihara catches Dy throwing a lazy kick and absolutely scorches the Filipino fighter with a straight left hand on the turn-around. "Yashabo" tries to pound out his wounded opponent but can't find the early finish, so instead he comes down into Dy's guard. Dy tries to kick away Ishihara but can't create any space, while Ishihara continues to land heavy ground-and-pound, unloading with heavy elbows through Dy's guard. Ishihara remains heavy on top through the middle of the round, keeping Dy trapped up against the base of the fence. Dy keeps Ishihara in his closed guard but is unable to manage much of anything else. Dy boxes the right ear of Ishihara in the closing seconds, which seems to annoy the Japanese fighter enough to drop one final flurry of punches.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-8 Ishihara
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-8 Ishihara
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Ishihara

Round 2

Ishihara backs up Dy against the fence with a heavy body kick and a straight left hand. Dy answers with a knee aimed at the body which instead lands on Ishihara's cup. Ishihara takes a moment to recover and charges forward again, and Dy is waiting with a head kick. "Yashabo" absorbs the strike and drops levels for a takedown, but Dy defends the shot well. Dy looks to have timed Ishihara well here, catching the local favorite stepping inside and rocking his head with a beautiful counter right. Ishihara eats a short left hook from Dy but returns fire with a straight left down the center. Both featherweights connect with hooks at the same time, but neither man budges. Ishihara looks for a clinch on the fence; Dy is able to escape after a few seconds. Ninety seconds remaining and the fighters land simultaneous punches again; Dy's punch looks to have a little more behind it, and he's undoubtedly the more technical striker in these exchanges. Ishihara begins to mix in some low kicks after almost a full round of relying on his left hand. Dy misses with a straight right but zaps Ishihara with a flush left hook on the end of the combo.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Dy
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Dy
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Dy

Round 3

Dy catches the incoming Ishihara with a kick to the body, then grabs him by the back of the head and drills him with a knee. Ishihara drives forward desperately on Dy's legs, bringing the fight back to the fence. Dy defends the takedown well, and the featherweights separate with 4:30 left in the fight. Ishihara looks to have recovered quickly from Dy's early offense, but now Dy lands a low blow knee square to the cup of the Team Alpha Male fighter. Ishihara winces and falls to his knees by the fence as referee John Sharp calls time. Ishihara takes a minute to recover and the fight resumes with him bouncing forward on Dy, who slides backward, waiting to counter the more aggressive man. Dy lands a left hook, now a head kick, slowing Ishihara's forward momentum. Ishihara gets going again with a left high kick of his own, then steps in to clinch Dy against the wall. Dy is once again able to extract himself from the clinch without much difficulty. Halfway through the round, Dy lands another low blow, this time a vicious low kick which lands to Ishihara's cup with a sickening noise. Ishihara is on the ground in agony, but after a few seconds, he gestures to referee Sharp and the crowd to be patient, indicating that he wishes to continue. Sharp takes one point away from Dy, and action resumes with Ishihara shooting for a takedown. Dy can't resist the shot this time, and Ishihara plants him on the ground near the fence. Dy kicks him away and scrambles to his feet, but Ishihara clings to a single-leg and keeps him trapped on the wall. Dy finally manages to create space on the feet with 70 seconds remaining. Ishihara is on his back foot, perhaps looking to just ride out the remaining minute, certainly not slinging his left hand as he was in previous rounds. Dy is still looking for a finish down the stretch, but Ishihara is able to evade him to the final horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 9-9 (28-27 Ishihara)
Brian Knapp scores the round 9-9 (28-27 Ishihara)
Chris Nelson scores the round 9-9 (28-27 Ishihara)

Henrique da Silva vs. Gokhan Saki

Round 1

Saki lands a right hook out of the gate but misses on the follow-up left hook. Da Silva walks straight forward and gets floored by a precision straight left to the jaw. Saki wants the Brazilian back on his feet, but when "Frankenstein" gets up, he shoots straight for a takedown against the fence. Saki defends well, creates space and stings da Silva with another heavy right hand, now a chopping low kick. Less than two minutes into the bout, da Silva nose is looking red and bent. Saki closes him down at the fence and blasts him with a left hook, then another, a right hand to the body, another left hook. Da Silva looks to be fading fast, but Saki takes his foot off the gas and allows him to step out to the center. Da Silva tries to clinch, can't get anything going, switches to a high double-leg but can't make that work either. Saki takes a clinch knee on his way out of the tie-up but seems unmoved by da Silva's strikes. Da Silva charges forward into another left hand, tries a spinning backfist but Saki sees it coming from a mile out. Suddenly it's da Silva working with increased confidence, throwing body-head combos at Saki up against the fence. Saki bites down on his mouthpiece and swings a murderous left hook with his back up against the cage. Da Silva takes it on the chin and drops flat on his back, while referee Greg Kleynjans rushes in for the stoppage. Saki strides away, the winner by walkoff knockout victory in his UFC debut.

The Official Result

Gokhan Saki def. Henrique da Silva via KO (Punch) R1 4:45

Takanori Gomi vs. Dong Hyun Kim

Round 1

The southpaw Gomi takes the center of the cage and crouches low in his wide stance, while the larger Kim sticks to the outside, sizing up "The Fireball Kid" and seemingly waiting to counter. Gomi closes in on Kim near the fence, so Kim circles off to his right, then leaps forward with a straight right hand that sends Gomi to the canvas. Gomi is covering up on his back as Kim drops follow-up shots, and referee Steve Perceval gives the Japanese veteran only a few seconds to recover before stepping in for the stoppage.

The Official Result

Dong Hyun Kim def. Takanori Gomi via TKO (Punches) R1 1:30

Jessica Andrade vs. Claudia Gadelha

Round 1

Andrade takes the center of the cage and steps in low toward the taller woman, ready to strike. It's the grappler Gadelha who lands first, however, tagging Andrade with a left hand in the opening exchange. Gadelha finds a home for another combination and then slides out of the way as Andrade opens up with her big-swinging return fire. Andrade closes the distance but comes too close and pays as Gadelha slams her with standing elbows. Andrade is cut open along her hairline, blood streaming down her face less than halfway through the opening round. Andrade digs an underhook and pins Gadelha against the fence, then lifts and slams her to the mat. Gadelha springs back to her feet, wraps up Andrade's neck tight and jumps guard with a guillotine, but Andrade is able to shake her off after a few seconds. Andrade comes down in top position with abou 90 seconds left to work. "Bate Estaca" is finding her best success of the round here in top position, slamming Gadelha's face with some solid left hands. Gadelha looks for a kimura from the bottom, can't secure the arm, and Andrade finishes the round strong with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Gadelha
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Gadelha
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Gadelha

Round 2

Andrade closes the distance and picks a fight with Gadelha in the pocket, right near the fence. After both women connect with punches, Andrade drops to try a takedown but is denied by her fellow Brazilian. They come off the fence and now it's Gadelha looking for a takedown, stuffed by Andrade, who hustles "Claudinha" to the floor. It's Andrade on top with more than three minutes left to fight, peppering Gadelha with punches. Gadelha climbs back to her feet but pays for it with some hard knees to the body along the way. Gadelha's hands look a little lower now, her breathing a little heavier as Andrade marches toward her. Andrade is finding her range now, connecting with almost every punch she throws at Gadelha, who's looking increasingly unsteady as she staggers around near the fence. Gadelha tries a poor single-leg shot and is punished as Andrade stuffs her to the ground. Gadelha's left eye is a bloody mess, plasma streaming from the outside corner and down her cheek. Gadelha works back to her feet and tags Andrade with a clean right hand, but Andrade just walks right through it and continues to bomb with punches to the body and head. Gadelha jumps guard with an arm-in guillotine in the closing moments, but Andrade is saved by the bell.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Andrade
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-8 Andrade
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Andrade

Round 3

Andrade opens with a left hook, thwarts a slow double-leg attempt from Gadelha and turns the Nova Uniao black belt against the fence. Andrade lifts and hurls Gadelha to the floor, landing in side control on Gadelha's right, about two feet away from the fence. Gadelha tries to shrimp inside, reclaiming half guard with 3:30 on the clock. Gadelha rolls onto her side, exposing her ribs for Andrade to blast with heavy ground-and-pound. Gadelha puts Andrade back in full guard, but Andrade continues to blast right through it with left hands. Passing to side control again, Andrade goes knee-on-belly, forcing Gadelha to roll to her knees. Gadelha tries to stand but gets stuck on her knees by Andrade, who's just bullying Gadelha on the ground. Gadelha tries to set up another guillotine attempt, but Andrade peels her hands away and finishes the fight with one more nasty slam.

Ovince St. Preux vs. Yushin Okami

Round 1

English referee Leon Roberts is the third man in the cage for tonight's short-notice 205-pound main event, scheduled for five rounds. Okami shoots immediately and pulls half guard as St. Preux attempts to wrap up the neck of the veteran. Okami tries to elevate and sweep but can't flip the larger man over the top, though he does succeed in freeing his neck from the loose headlock of "OSP." St. Preux may be looking for an arm-triangle choke setup now, and Okami grabs for a guillotine from the bottom. Okami makes the mistake of holding on to the headlock as St. Preux passes to side control, and within moments, St. Preux has put Okami to sleep with a "Von Flue" choke. The crowd is silent as Ovince St. Preux leaps to his feet, victorious, and Yushin Okami remains motionless on the ground, the victim of another St. Preux shoulder choke.

The Official Result

Ovince St. Preux def. Yushin Okami via Technical Submission (Shoulder Choke) R1 1:50
