UFC Fight Night 118 Medical Suspensions: Cerrone Faces 6-Month Sit After Broken Nose

By Jordan Breen Oct 23, 2017

Prior to his UFC Fight Night 118 headliner against Darren Till, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone was already talking up the fact he was tentatively penciled in already for a bout at UFC 219 on Dec. 30. Those optimistic plans have taken a hit.

Courtesy of his first-round knockout loss to Till, Cerrone is now potentially facing a six-month layoff according to the list of medical suspensions related to this past Saturday's UFC card at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland. The UFC provided the suspensions to official recordkeeper MixedMartialArts.com who released the information on Monday.

Cerrone, who claimed shortly after the bout that the undefeated Till had broken his nose en route to a Round 1 stoppage, will be suspended for 180 days unless he is cleared by a maxillofacial specialist. Even if cleared, “Cowboy” will be suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days.

Other fighters facing a possible 180-day suspensions pending medical clearance are: middleweight Sam Alvey (right knee); light heavyweights Jan Blachowicz (left foot) and Devin Clark (right calf and elbow); and bantamweight Damian Stasiak (right knee).

All fighters who competed at UFC Fight Night 118 are subject to minimum seven-day suspensions.
