UFC Fight Night 123 Update: Jason Knight, Gabriel Benitez to Clash in Fresno

By Tristen Critchfield Nov 10, 2017

A featherweight tilt pitting Jason Knight against Gabriel Benitez has been added to the UFC Fight Night 123 lineup.

Promotion officials recently confirmed the pairing. UFC Fight Night 123 takes place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., and is headlined by a 145-pound showdown between Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega. The evening’s main card airs on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Knight saw a four-fight UFC winning streak come to an end when he suffered a first-round TKO defeat to former 145-pound title challenger Ricardo Lamas at UFC 214. The 25-year-old Alan Belcher protege owns a 20-3 professional mark, with 13 wins coming via submission and three by KO/TKO.

Benitez, meanwhile, is 3-2 during his promotional tenure. Most recently, “Moggly” dropped a unanimous decision to Enrique Barzola at UFC 211 on May 13. Benitez is 19-6 over the course of his pro career, with 16 victories coming inside the distance.
