Jarred Brooks vs. Jose Torres

Round 1

Torres stands in the center of the cage and gets popped with a hard, short left hand from Brooks, who circles clockwise around the outside. Brooks tries for an early takedown, can't get it, but feets Torres an uppercut on his way out. Brooks puts a one-two on Torres, has a spinning backfist deflected, then circles away and tries the spinning strike again. This time, the forearm connects, and Torres drops to his knees. Brooks catches the kneeling "Shorty" in a front headlock and drives knees to the body as the flyweights hit the halfway point of round one. Torres finally climbs back to his feet, gets kneed in the face as he does, now tries to create some space from his extremely active opponent. Brooks lands the spinning backfist again, though not cleanly; Torres answers with a single low kick. With 80 seconds on the clock, Brooks changes levels and floors Torres with a powerful double-leg. "The Monkey God" climbs onto Torres' back and establishes both hooks, holding Brooks in place even as Torres stands and leans against the fence. Brooks' right hand is locked down by Torres, neutralizing the threat of the rear-naked choke. Brooks finally pulls the arm free in the final 15 seconds but can't find the choke before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-8 Brooks
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-8 Brooks
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Brooks

Round 2

Torres denies Brooks' first takedown attempt of round two, then catches "The Monkey God" going back to the well with the spinning backfist. This time, Torres is ready and wraps up Brooks for a takedown of his own. Brooks gets back to his knees, then to his feet, but Torres keeps him clinched up against the fence. The flyweights separate and resume striking around the midway point of the round, then Torres tries the clinch again and finds success with a few knees. Brooks drops for a double and then lifts Torres over his shoulder, carrying him to the center of the cage for a flashy backdrop slam. Instead of knocking out Torres, however, Brooks drives the back of his own head into the canvas, aided by Torres' left leg. Brooks has knocked himself almost unconscious, and Torres tacks on a few punches to his helpless opponent before referee Dan Miragliotta intervenes.

The Official Result

Jose Torres def. Jarred Brooks via KO (Slam) R2 2:55

Johnny Eduardo vs. Nathaniel Wood

Round 1

The bantamweights exchange leg kicks and jabs in the opening 30 seconds, with Wood landing the harder strikes. Eduardo shuts down the Englishman's first takedown attempt, absorbs another low kick, but this time snipes back at Wood with a speedy right straight. Wood snaps back Eduardo's head with a right hand of his own; Eduardo lands another right, then a pair of leg kicks, slowing down Wood for the first time. Eduardo is starting to find the range with his jab, and Wood almost hits the deck halfway through the round. Wood continues to land, too, tagging Eduardo with a couple hard left hooks to the side of the head. Eduardo counters a low kick with another right hand, and this one has Wood in trouble. Wood is backing up, covering up, but unable to fight back when Eduardo attacks him with follow-up punches on the fence. Wood shakes the cobwebs and is able to withstand the attack, even as Eduardo attacks his body with heavy shots. Eduardo backs off in the final 30 seconds and tells Wood to come forward. Wood obligest, then feeds the Brazilian a stiff jab to finish off the round.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Eduardo
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-8 Eduardo
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Eduardo

Round 2

Eduardo works off his back foot in the early going of round two, landing leg kicks and counters as Wood comes forward. Wood is still landing shots, too, catching Eduardo with a few speedy rights as they circle. Eduardo tries a takedown, gets stuffed to the mat face-first, and now Wood frames up a brabo/D'arce choke from his knees. Wood rolls Eduardo onto his side and sinks his own hips to the floor. With no chance of escape, Eduardo is forced to tap out.

The Official Result

Nathaniel Wood def. Johnny Eduardo via Submission (Brabo Choke) R2 2:18

Desmond Green vs. Gleison Tibau

Round 1

Green bounces his first few punches off the gloves of Tibau, then catches the Brazilian shooting in and pops him with a short left hand. Tibau is the aggressor in the opening minute but is having some difficulty navigating Green's lengthy reach. Green denies another takedown attempt and makes Tibau pay with a pair of punches as they separate. Green is jumping in and out of the pocket to deliver punches, eating some short counters from Tibau but landing the harder strikes in the exchanges. Tibau continues to press forward, eats a few more punches from Green and shoots again. Green sprawls, underhooks and circles away, now inside the final two minutes of the opening frame. Neither man is terribly accurate down the stretch, though Green finishes the round with a nice body kick and a jab.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Green
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Green
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Green

Round 2

Tibau catches Green trying to pressure his way inside, dinging "The Predator" with a looping right hand as he backpedals. Green backs off momentarily, then comes back with a right hand for Tibau's midsection. The lightweights continue their boxing match through the middle of the round, Green still controlling the distance and landing the occasional jab. Tibau bounces a left hand off Green's shoulder and comes away holding his eye, the victim of an accidental eye poke. Dan Miragliotta, who warned Green between rounds for keeping his hands open, checks in with the Brazilian, who doesn't appear to want a break. The rest of the round is more of the same, with Green applying slow pressure and holding Tibau out of striking or shooting range.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Green
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Green
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Green

Round 3

Green lands a kick to the body and jams a left hand in Tibau's face before backing out of the pocket. Neither southpaw is committing to any kind of sustained attack, as Green picks at his opponent with range strikes and Tibau keeps looking for haymakers. Tibau connects with an overhand right, but Green wears it well and tags Tibau back with a straight left to the side of the head. Two minutes in, a jab from Green sends Tibau staggering backward. Green walks him down and lands a vicious pair of hooks, buckling Tibau's legs. Tibau springs back up, narrowly avoiding a stoppage from referee Miragliotta, who gets tripped up as he tries to get out of the fighters' way. Tibau spends the better part of a minute in survival mode, but now appears to have cleared his head from the flash knockout. Green connects with another combination, starts taunting Tibau, calling him forward. Tibau obliges with a left hand and continues to swing for the fences in the final seconds, but it looks like too little, too late.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Green (30-27 Green)
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Green (30-27 Green)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Green (30-27 Green)

The Official Result

Desmond Green def. Gleison Tibau via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-27) R3 5:00

Belal Muhammad vs. Chance Rencountre

Round 1

Muhammad presses forward on the southpaw Rencountre, who holds a noticeable 3-inch height advantage over the Chicagoan. Both welterweights are testing the range with short punches in the opening 90 seconds, and now Rencountre gets busy with some hard leg kicks. Muhammad fires back with some heavy low kicks of his own. Muhammad backs up the newcomer to the fence and touches him with a short hook, then easily shuts down Rencountre's first takedown attempt of the bout. Muhammad slips a left, then shoots one back at Rencountre before getting out of range. Rencountre is being forced to work entirely off his back foot here, constant forward pressure from Muhammad keeping him in reverse. The story changes inside the final minute, as Rencountre takes a turn coming forward and almost immediately finds a home for his hardest punch of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Muhammad
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Muhammad
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Muhammad

Round 2

Muhammad is on the advance again early in the second frame, pressuring Rencountre backward toward the fence, ducking in and out of range to deliver tight combinations. "Remember the Name" drops levels and completes an easy takedown, but holding Rencountre on the mat proves to be a more difficult proposition, as the Osage fighter quickly posts and stands. Muhammad ducks under a left hand, pops up and slugs Rencountre with a right cross. Things slow down in the middle part of the round, though Muhammad continues to apply pressure, walking Rencountre around the cage. Muhammad backs up "Black Eagle" with a few jabs, narrowly misses with a front kick. Another double jab scores for Muhammad, who finishes the round with a spinning kick to the body.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Muhammad
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Muhammad
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Muhammad

Round 3

Muhammad goes straight back to the tactic that won him the first two rounds, constantly inching forward on Rencountre, backing him up and then sticking him with speedy, compact punches. The larger, longer Rencountre lands a few leg kicks, but nothing that gives Muhammad any sort of pause. With two minutes on the clock, Muhammad changes levels and floors "Black Eagle" with a takedown, but again Rencountre is able to stand up within seconds. Muhammad cracks Rencountre with an overhand right, hits another takedown and moves straight to Rencountre's back. Securing the position with a body triangle, Muhammad tries to wrap his right arm around his opponent's neck; Rencountre does well hand-fighting, shutting down the sub attempt and even getting back to his feet in the final 10 seconds.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Muhammad (30-27 Muhammad)
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Muhammad (30-27 Muhammad)

Nik Lentz vs. David Teymur

Round 1

Lentz takes the center of the cage as the southpaw Teymur cuts angles around the outside. Teymur eats an overhand that backs him up, but he comes back to rip a shot to Lentz's body. Lentz throws a sloppy right hand and gets blasted with a counter left that knocks him to his knees. Lentz pops back up straight away and resumes his forward pressure, but it's Teymur connecting with a heavy, step-in knee to the gut, along with some heavy outside leg kicks. Lentz keeps pressuring and finally wraps up Teymur, then spins him to the ground. Teymur climbs back up and rakes Lentz across the eyes, drawing a warning from referee Todd Anderson. Lentz tries to take down Teymur and gets his face raked again, coupled with a fence grab, but the ref doesn't notice these infractions. Teymur separates from Lentz and creates space, then waits for Lentz to come forward and punishes "The Carnie" with another round of heavy leg kicks before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Teymur
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Teymur
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Teymur

Round 2

Teymur continues to punish the already reddened lead leg of Lentz as the UFC veteran presses forward in the opening minute of round two. Lentz tries to jab his way inside on the southpaw, finally catches a kick and hustles Teymur to the ground, but Teymur posts and stands right away. Lentz whiffs on an overhand, stumbles and gets pinged with a left hand to the side of the head. Teymur tries a left high kick but only finds the back of Lentz's right glove. Lentz slips throwing a kick, but Teymur has no intention of joining him on the ground.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Teymur
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Teymur
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Teymur

Round 3

Lentz is trying to close the distance and corner Teymur early in the final round. Teymur won't allow himself to be trapped, however, constantly angling off the fence when Lentz comes close. Ninety seconds in, Lentz gets hold of Teymur and tries to spin him to the ground; Teymur grabs the fence again, drawing another verbal warning from referee Anderson. Lentz instead tries to jump guard with a guillotine, but Teymur rolls out of the choke and back to his feet almost as soon as they hit the ground. Lentz catches Teymur off-balance and pops him with a short right hand, forcing Teymur to bail out of the pocket. With half the round remaining, it's Lentz who looks to be on the ascent, but 30 seconds later, Teymur has slowed the pace again with jabs and kicks from distance. Teymur finds the jaw of Lentz with a nifty front kick in the last 15 seconds, but it's not enough to keep it out of the judges' hands.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Lentz (29-28 Lentz)
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Teymur (30-27 Teymur)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Teymur (30-27 Teymur)

The Official Result

David Teymur def. Nik Lentz via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) R3 5:00

Sijara Eubanks vs. Lauren Murphy

Round 1

Eubanks brings pressure to Murphy right out of the cage and quickly corners the Alaskan up against the fence. "Sarge" swarms Murphy with a three-punch combo, then changes levels for a quick takedown at the base of the wall. Murphy posts and stands right away, tries to create some separation, but Eubanks walks her down. Halfway through the opening round, Murphy is on the retreat, cut around the outside corner of her right eye from the Eubanks left that stung her. Eubanks' volume isn't as high in the latter half of the round, though she does some good clinch work in the final minute and finishes the round with a flurry.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Eubanks
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Eubanks
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Eubanks

Round 2

Eubanks stays on the advance as the second frame begins, jabs and short combos keeping Murphy on the outside with her back near the fence. Murphy connects with a few counter rights in the second minute, so Eubanks mixes it up and shoots for a takedown against the fence. Murphy stays up at first, but Eubanks' next effort yields a thunderous takedown about two feet away from the fence. Murphy tries to get something going with rubber guard and instead gets a right hand to the face as Eubanks stands over her. Eubanks settles back in Murphy's half guard with 85 seconds left, but "Lucky" puts her back in a tight rubber guard. Eubanks tries to advance, gets held in place by Murphy's butterfly hooks, and instead lands some solid ground-and-pound in the last 30 seconds. Murphy lands a few elbows of her own, but she finishes the round on her back.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Eubanks
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Eubanks
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Eubanks

Round 3

Murphy dives on a single-leg and spins Eubanks to the mat, but Eubanks sits up and socks the kneeling Murphy with three or four left hands before both women scramble back to their feet. Eubanks comes over the top and bonks Murphy with a windmill overhand right. Murphy tries another takedown but can't get anything going this time, as Eubanks uses underhooks to turns her away. Murphy catches Eubanks sleepwalking into the pocket and lands a right hand. This seems to get the attention of Eubanks, who gets much busier over the next 60 seconds but isn't landing much of consequence. Eubanks takes down Murphy once again in the last minute and pounds the MMA Lab product with some late ground strikes, though it's Murphy who gets the final word with an upkick.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Eubanks (30-27 Eubanks)
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Eubanks (30-27 Eubanks)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Eubanks (30-27 Eubanks)

The Official Result

Sijara Eubanks def. Lauren Murphy via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) R3 5:00

Gian Villante vs. Sam Alvey

Round 1

Villante controls the center of the cage in the slow-paced opening minute, keeping Alvey backed up pretty tight to the wall as they circle. The New Yorker slams Alvey's legs with several heavy kicks and comes over the top with a right hand for the first big punch of the bout. The pace stays tepid through the middle of the round, with Alvey occasionally trying to come off the fence with a power punch. Villante puts a heavy kick in Alvey's breadbasket, then walks him down and fires to the body with a right hook. Alvey takes a kick to the cup in the final minute, but he wants to get back to business almost as soon as referee Kevin MacDonald pauses the fight. Villante continues his forward march until just after the 10-second clapper, when a short left hand from Alvey puts the New Yorker on his seat. Villante springs back to his feet and covers up against the fence as Alvey bounces punches off his arms in the dying seconds of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Alvey
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-8 Alvey
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Alvey

Round 2

Villante looks fully recovered from his flash knockdown in the final seconds of round one, as he's straight back to his tactic of walking down Alvey around the outside. Leg kicks and short right hands connect for Villante, while Alvey seems to be waiting for an opportunity. Alvey barges off the fence with a good left straight but doesn't follow up, and Villante soon retakes control of the action. One particularly hard left hand from Villante snaps back the head of Alvey. "Smile'n Sam" tries to flurry but bounces his punches off Villante's arms, and Villante taunts him to keep throwing. Alvey goes on the offensive again in the last 10 seconds, but this time it's Villante who scores a clean right hand just before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Alvey
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Villante
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Villante

Round 3

It's slow going through the first minute of round three, but the scene as familiar, as Villante continues to creep forward and Alvey goes back to circling the outside. Alvey comes off the fence with a one-two, then gets swatted across the face with a looping Villante left. Halfway through, the round still appears to be wide open and up for grabs. Villante puts a thudding kick on Alvey's trunk, and Alvey circles away with his mouthpiece hanging out to catch a breath. Inside the final minute, Alvey connects with a short right hook that leaves Alvey off-balance and swinging at air. Villante remains the aggressor down the stretch, bouncing a few right high kicks off Alvey's arms. In the last 10 seconds, Alvey blocks another head kick and slugs Villante with a clean left-handed counter to the jaw. The 205ers clinch up and finish the fight on the fence.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Villante (29-28 Alvey)
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Villante (28-28 Draw)

Julio Arce vs. Daniel Teymur

Round 1

Teymur works from the center in the opening 60 seconds, testing the range with low kicks and he presses out on an inactive Arce. The Swede shrugs at Arce, but the New Yorker won't be rushed, and the featherweights continue their sporadic striking. Teymur remains the busier man though the middle of the round, thanks to his leg kicks, but Arce is finding a home for his left. Arce initiates a clinch but soon finds himself spun against the fence. Arce starts to come alive late, forcing Teymur backward with a heavy combination. It's Arce on the ascent in the final of the round, putting Teymur on his back foot with a nice left hand.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Arce
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Arce
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Arce

Round 2

Arce comes out busy in round two, doubling up Teymur on volume through the opening two minutes. Teymur, who continues to hunt for a head kick, is still eating left hands from the southpaw and having trouble returning fire. Teymur tries a clinch but can't get anything going. The next clinch sees Arce firing a knee to the face as he catches Teymur leaning forward. Teymur tries a single-leg but has to abandon the takedown attempt when Arce threatens with a guillotine choke. Just before the horn, Arce touches Teymur with a jab and immediately ducks to avoid the Swede's last-second spinning backfist.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Arce
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Arce
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Arce

Round 3

Teymur lands a few leg kicks in the opening minute, but it's Arce who starts the round stronger with a clean cross that turns Teymur's head. Teymur keeps winding up for big overhand rights, but the southpaw Arce gets out of the way with ease almost every time. Late in the second minute, Arce changes levels and easily takes down Teymur, then quickly takes his back. Arce secures the position with a tight body triangle, catches his opponent trying to sit up and whips his left arm around Teymur's throat. Teymur fights Arce's hands and gives a thumbs-up to referee Todd Anderson, but Arce has it locked on tight. Teymur fails to peel away Arce's hands on his final attempt, and he's forced to tap to the RNC.

The Official Result

Julio Arce def. Daniel Teymur via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R3 2:55

Jake Ellenberger vs. Ben Saunders

Round 1

Ellenberger catches a kick and shoves Saunders backward to the fence, but the "Juggernaut" has to be cautious coming forward as Saunders fires off a combination. Ellenberger gets inside to clinch, but Saunders gets busy almost immediately with knees to the body. "Killa B" pulls Ellenberger off the fence and pulls his head down in the Thai plum, then fires off a pinpoint knee to the Nebraskan's right side. The knee lands either on the liver or floating rib of Ellenberger, who clutches his midsection and takes a knee as referee Dan Miragliotta rushes in to stop the fight.

The Official Result

Ben Saunders def. Jake Ellenberger via KO (Knee to the Body) R1 1:56

Walt Harris vs. Daniel Spitz

Round 1

The southpaw Harris immediately takes the center of the cage and moves Spitz around the outside, following closely but not letting go of anything early. Harris is forced to step back when the 6-foot-7 Spitz fires off a few long-reaching kicks, but "The Big Ticket" is soon on the advance again. Halfway through the round, Harris is still moving forward but has still yet to commit to any serious strikes. Suddenly, Harris flashes a hard left hand across the face of Spitz, who immediately looks for an outlet to circle away from the fence. Spitz continues to land body kicks, now gets his arms up to block one that Harris aims at his head. Harris goes to the body with a kick, now to the legs, but the action remains tepid through the end of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Harris
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Harris
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Harris

Round 2

Harris reclaims the center and resumes his stalking of Spitz, who apparently suffered a arm injury while blocking a kick in the opening round. Spitz is throwing only kicks and barely even moving his right arm, much less throwing punches with it. Harris isn't upping his aggression, however, even after easily turning away a Spitz takedown attempt. With 90 seconds left in a glacially paced round, the Utica crowd is letting the heavyweights hear it. Harris changes their minds around the 20-second mark, when he blasts Spitz with a vicious left hand that comes over the top of a leg kick. Spitz is out on his feet, staggering backward to the fence, where Harris walks him down and puts him on the ground with follow-up punches. Spitz tries to throw up his guard as the final second tick away, but Harris goes hard for the finish and pounds away for the buzzer-beater stoppage.

The Official Result

Walt Harris def. Daniel Spitz via KO (Punches) R2 4:59

Gregor Gillespie vs. Vinc Pichel

Round 1

Gillespie dives in behind a left hand and easily floors Pichel with a single-leg at the base of the fence. Gillespie quickly passes to side control and puts himself between Pichel and the fence, then slides him toward the center. Gillespie lays his weight across Pichel, keeping him pinned to the mat while landing some short ground-and-pound. Pichel rolls to his knees, defends a back-take and then climbs back to his feet. Gillespie goes straight after another takedown and finds himself back in side control with 2:45 on the clock. Pichel gets to his knees, then his feet, but the sequence repeats as Gillespie lands his third takedown in as many minutes. Gillespie works from Pichel's half guard now, leaning left to right across his body. Gillespie has an arm-triangle choke framed up, but he's on the wrong side and locked up in half guard. Gillespie moves to mount, tries the arm-triangle again, but Pichel escapes out the back door and scrambles to his feet. Pichel sprawls on Gillespie's next shot, so "The Gift" keeps shooting and takes him down with the second effort. Gillespie finishes the round with Pichel trapped in an anaconda choke attempt.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Gillespie
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Gillespie
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Gillespie

Round 2

Gillespie floors Pichel with another powerful takedown within 30 seconds, this time directly in the center of the cage. Pichel scoots over to the base of the fence and gets on his knees, so Gillespie holds him in the wrestling ride position and drives knees to the legs and body. Gillespie jumps on Pichel's back, but he's riding high and looks like he may be considering peeling off for an armbar. Pichel stands up and Gillespie hops off his back but keeps "From Hell" wrapped up tight with a bodylock. Pichel rolls to his back, leaving Gillespie in half guard, working for full mount with two minutes left in the round. Gillespie advances to mount with 70 seconds left, now takes the back as Pichel rolls over. Pichel tries to roll again, but Gillespie catches him with an arm-triangle choke, and this one is tight. Pichel holds out for a few seconds, then taps in submission.

The Official Result

Gregor Gillespie def. Vinc Pichel via Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) R2 4:06

Jimmie Rivera vs. Marlon Moraes

Round 1

Referee Dan Miragliotta is the third man in the cage for tonight's 135-pound main event, scheduled for five rounds. The bantamweights line up in the center of the cage and circle one another, each testing the range with jabs. Before either man can land a punch, Moraes goes upstairs with a left high switch-kick that lands clean and sends Rivera to the canvas, then rolling to his knees. Moraes pounces and pounds away with right hands until referee Miragliotta separates them. Marlon Moraes ends the winning streak of Jimmie Rivera in mere seconds with a brutal and decisive finish.

The Official Result

Marlon Moraes def. Jimmie Rivera via KO (Head Kick and Punches) R1 0:33
