UFC Fight Night 35 Gets John Moraga-Dustin Ortiz Flyweight Bout

A new flyweight pairing has been added to the developing UFC Fight Night 35 bill, as former title challenger John Moraga will collide with Dustin Ortiz at the Jan. 15 event.

UFC officials Thursday announced the booking via Twitter. Headlined by a middleweight showdown between ex-Strikeforce ruler Luke Rockhold and Costa Philippou, the event takes place at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in the Atlanta suburb of Duluth, Ga., and airs live on Fox Sports 1.

Moraga, 29, last competed in July, when he was submitted by flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Fox 8. That setback snapped a seven-fight winning streak for the 15-fight pro, who began his Octagon career last year with stoppage wins over Ulysses Gomez and Chris Cariaso.

Ortiz made his UFC debut on Nov. 9 following a successful run on the local circuit that was capped by three consecutive victories. The Roufusport rep made a successful Octagon foray last month, scoring a third-round technical knockout over game Brazilian Jose Maria Tome.
