Jack Marshman, Kevin Lee, Justin Ledet and Abdul Razak Alhassan all received $50,000 “Peformance of the Night” bonuses for their work at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast on Saturday.
Marshman received a peformance bonus for an entertaining duel with Magnus Cedenblad. Marshman, who was making his Octagon debut, dropped Cedenblad early but spent most of the period absorbing ground-and-pound from the lanky Swede. After an entertaining sequence in the second stanza, Marshman floored Cedenblad with a three-punch combination and ended the contest with punches on the ground at the 3:32 mark.
Up-and-coming lightweight Kevin Lee captured a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus thanks to a second-round submission of Magomed Mustafaev. Lee controlled the matchup with his wrestling, landing multiple takedowns in both rounds. Late in round two, he got Mustafaev to the canvas, took his back and rendered his foe unconscious with a rear-naked choke 4:31 into the period.
Ledet earned a $50,000 performance bonus for his victory over Mark Godbeer in a preliminary heavyweight duel. Ledet caught the former British Association of Mixed Martial Arts champion off guard with a takedown early. Godbeer responded by attempting a leg lock, which allowed Ledet to scramble to his back and secure a fight-ending rear-naked choke 2:16 into the second round.
Finally, Alhassan was impressive in his Octagon debut, as he collected a $50,000 “Peformance of the Night” bonus for a first-round knockout of fellow newcomer Charlie Ward. Alhassan floored his foe with an uppercut during an early exchange before sending Ward tumbling into the fence with an overhand right that brought a halt to the welterweight bout 53 seconds into Round 1.
