Multiple outlets have confirmed the news on Tuesday following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. Rockhold vs. Souza was scheduled to headline the Nov. 27 event, but “Jacare” is unlikely to remain on the card following his opponent’s withdrawal. It is currently unclear how the promotion will fill the main event slot.

UFC Fight Night takes place at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and also includes a middleweight pairing pitting Derek Brunson against Robert Whittaker.

Rockhold and Souza initially squared off under the Strikeforce banner in September 2011, with the American Kickboxing Academy product claiming the promotion’s middleweight title with a unanimous decision victory.

Souza’s manager, Gilberto Faria, told MMAFighting.com that the Brazilian fighter is now only interested in a bout against reigning UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping.
