Donald Cerrone, Steve Bosse, Sean O’Connell and Krzysztof Jotko each received $50,000 bonuses for their work at UFC Fight Night at TD Place Arena in Ottawa on Saturday.
Cerrone garnered a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” paycheck by becoming the first person to stop Patrick Cote with strikes in the evening’s co-main event. “Cowboy” dropped his foe three times during the welterweight contest — twice in the final stanza — before putting Cote away for good 2:35 into round three.
Bosse and O’Connell were an easy choice for “Fight of the Night” and $50,000 apiece following their back-and-forth light heavyweight brawl. Both men traded heavy punches throughout the slugfest, and somehow, both managed to make it to the final bell despite absorbing serious damage. Ultimately, Bosse emerged with a unanimous decision triumph.
Finally, Jotko captured a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his first-round knockout of Tamdan McCrory in a preliminary middleweight bout. An overhand left from Jotko in an early exchange folded “The Barn Cat,” and two follow-up hammerfists sealed the victory just 59 seconds after the contest began.
