Former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida garnered the largest payday at UFC Fight Night on June 27, as he earned $200,000 in his loss to Yoel Romero in the evening’s headliner.
The Florida State Boxing Commission recently released salaries from the event. UFC Fight Night “Machida vs. Romero” took place at Seminole Hard Rock and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
Romero ($66,000) earned the signature victory of his career against “The Dragon,” as he finished Machida with a flurry of vicious elbows from top position 1:38 into the third frame of their middleweight encounter.
Strikeforce veteran Lorenz Larkin was the card’s other top earner, taking home $66,000 for his second-round technical knockout victory over Santiago Ponzinibbio ($10,000) in a welterweight affair.
