Longtime Octagon staple Frank Mir took home the largest paycheck from last Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night event, as the former heavyweight champion earned $200,000 for his victory over Todd Duffee ($12,000).
The California State Athletic Commission recently released salaries from the event, which took place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. Mir, a 25-time UFC veteran, did not receive a win bonus for his 73-second knockout of Duffee in the evening’s main event.
Other notable paydays included ex-Strikeforce talent Josh Thomson, who garnered $85,000 in a unanimous decision loss to Tony Ferguson ($60,000) in the co-feature and former WEC title challenger Manny Gamburyan, who pocketed $60,000 in a three-round verdict over Scott Jorgensen ($33,000).
Note: The disclosed purses reported by state athletic commissions do not include any performance-based or discretionary bonuses that may be awarded to a fighter by the promotion. Additionally, the reported figures do not reflect any deductions made by the commission for taxes, insurance, etc., and do not include any sponsorship money that a fighter may acquire for their performance.
