Doo Ho Choi, Seo Hee Ham, Cortney Casey and Dominique Steele all emerged $50,000 richer after their efforts at UFC Fight Night in Seoul on Saturday.
Choi earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for his first-round stoppage of Sam Sicilia in a short-lived featherweight brawl. Meanwhile, Ham and Casey garnered $50,000 “Fight of the Night” paychecks for their spirited strawweight tilt. Casey started quickly, stunning her South Korean foe with a head kick in the opening frame, but Ham took over down the stretch to thanks to a steady diet of high-volume punching combinations and kicks to the body. A strong final 10 minutes earned Ham a unanimous nod from the cageside judges.
Finally, Dominique Steele earned a $50,000 bonus by authoring a knockout victory over Dong Hyun Kim in a preliminary welterweight scrap. The former CES MMA titlist ended the fight in vicious fashion, as he slammed his foe to the canvas and then pounded him unconscious with elbows to force a stoppage 27 seconds into round three.
