The Ultimate Fighting Championship has tasked Benson Henderson with carrying its flag into South Korea. He was a natural choice for the ambassadorship.

Henderson, whose mother is Korean, tipped the scales at 170 pounds ahead of his clash with American Top Team’s Jorge Masvidal (170) in the UFC Fight Night 79 main event on Saturday at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. Welterweight co-headliners Dong Hyun Kim (171) and Dominic Waters (170) also hit their intended marks at Friday’s official weigh-in.

UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. Masvidal” -- which will stream in its entirety to UFC Fight Pass at 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT -- will also feature a welterweight scrap pitting 2006 K-1 Hero’s grand prix winner Yoshihiro Akiyama (170) against the unbeaten Alberto Mina (171) and a featherweight tilt pairing blue-chip prospect Doo Ho Choi (146) with Sam Sicilia (146).

Seven preliminary bouts will round out the lineup for the UFC’s debut in South Korea: Yui Chul Nam (146) vs. Mike de la Torre (146), Tae Hyun Bang (156) vs. Leo Kuntz (156), Dongi Yang (186) vs. Jake Collier (185), Seo Hee Ham (115) vs. Cortney Casey (116), Freddy Serrano (125) vs. Zhikui Yao (126), Guangyou Ning (134) vs. Marco Beltran (136) and Dong Hyun Kim (170) vs. Dominique Steele (171).
