UFC Fight Night in San Antonio Gets Middleweights Andy Enz, Marcelo Guimaraes

A middleweight confrontation between Andy Enz and Marcelo Guimaraes is set for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s debut in San Antonio.

The meeting takes place June 28 at the AT&T Center and precedes a featherweight headliner pitting Cub Swanson against Jeremy Stephens. The event airs live on Fox Sports 1 and will additionally feature a lightweight clash between “Ultimate Fighter 16” winner Colton Smith against the undefeated Carlos Diego Ferreira.

Enz, 22, saw his perfect pro ledger spoiled by “TUF 18” alum Clint Hester this past February, though “Tank Mode” acquitted himself well in the unanimous decision defeat. Prior to that setback, Enz began his career with seven straight wins, earning five by submission and another two via decision.

Guimaraes posted a 7-0-1 record to start his career, capturing the Jungle Fight middleweight title in 2011. “Magrao” then dropped to welterweight after signing with the UFC, scoring a split decision victory over Daniel Stittgen before suffering a second-round knockout at the hands of Hyun Gyu Lim roughly one year ago.
