If Chuck Liddell could cut a rug, then why not Randy Couture?
Couture will compete on Season 19 of the popular ABC series “Dancing with the Stars.” Newark Star-Ledger first reported the news on Thursday. Couture follows in the footsteps of his fellow “Ultimate Fighter” coach as a contestant on the show; Liddell appeared on Season 9.
Couture joins a diverse cast of participants that also includes race car driver Michael Waltrip and Olympian Lolo Jones. “The Natural” is no stranger to the camera: Since retiring from MMA, he has earned a starring role in the popular action trilogy “The Expendables.”
Couture also has experience on reality TV. He coached on the short-lived “Fight Master” series, and is currently co-starring alongside Frank Shamrock on the new Spike TV show “Gym Rescue.”
Now 51 years old, Couture was one of the UFC’s most popular fighters during his professional tenure. He captured titles in both the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions and earned notable wins over the likes of Vitor Belfort, Liddell, Pedro Rizzo, Tito Ortiz, Tim Sylvia and Gabriel Gonzaga, to name a few.
The upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars” begins on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET. The complete pairings for the show are as follows:
Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson
