Fight week has not gotten of to the best of starts for UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber.
The former World Extreme Cagefighting champion posted a video on Instagram Monday showing a swollen left foot, which was apparently run over by a car in Singapore.
“Warm welcome to Singapore, first day here and get run over by the only car in the road #strange,” Faber wrote.
The Team Alpha Male founder will likely help corner Teruto Ishihara, who trains at the Sacramento, Calif.-based gym, against Petr Yan in a bantamweight bout at UFC Fight Night 132. The card takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, on Saturday and is headlined by a welterweight clash between Donald Cerrone and Leon Edwards.
Fortunately, the injury won’t affect any future fight plans for Faber. “The California Kid” retired following a decision victory over Brad Pickett at UFC on Fox 22 on Dec. 17, 2016. He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in July 2017.
