Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic was in all his glory earlier this afternoon in Cleveland during his beloved Cavaliers’ championship parade. In fact, Miocic was given the privilege of leading the parade, which traveled through the streets of downtown C-Town in front of tens of thousands of adoring fans.
It was a fitting gesture from the cavaliers to grant Miocic the honor of leading the parade. Just moments before he climbed into the Octagon to take on then-champ Werdum in Brazil, the Cavs, Cleveland Indians Major League Baseball team and the NFL’s Cleveland Browns wished the fighter good luck. He went out and flattened the local fighter in under three minutes.
Miocic is slated to defend his title for the first time at UFC 203 when he takes on Alistair Overeem. The showdown will anchor the event, which goes down in Quicken Loans Arena, the home of the Cavs.
