UFC Live 5 Medical Suspensions: 6 Fighters Out Indefinitely
Six fighters were dealt indefinite suspensions by the Wisconsin
Department of Safety and Professional Services following UFC
Live 5 on Sunday.
Lightweight contender Jim Miller was among the fighters handed indefinite suspensions, as the New Jersey native appeared to sustain heavy damage during his three-round unanimous decision defeat to Benson Henderson at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Henderson was suspended 30 days for a left elbow injury.
Joining Henderson on the shelf indefinitely will be Amir
Sadollah and Duane Ludwig,
who engaged in a three-round slugfest in the evening’s first
televised contest. C.B.
Dollaway, who found himself on the receiving end of many
strikes courtesy of Jared
Hamman, will also sit out for the time being, as will Kyle Noke and
T.J.
O’Brien due to knee and rib injuries, respectively.
Also of note, main event competitor Dan Hardy was handed a 30-day suspension following his submission defeat to the retiring Chris Lytle. The Hoosier, who did not receive a medical suspension in the wake of his win, continually peppered the Brit with sharp punches for the better part of three rounds before locking up a guillotine to seal the deal with only 34 seconds remaining in the bout.
