Responding to Covington's verbal attack, Strickland retorted:
“Colby is an utter piece of sh*t... “If you know Colby on a personal level, he f*cked over everybody he f*cking knows. I take Colby as a personal insult to me because the Trumpsters, the Republicans, you guys are my f*cking people; the blue-collar workers. You guys are my f*cking people, and you guys have a c*nt like Colby come in here taking advantage. He don’t give a f*ck about you.
“Him making fun of Leon’s dad, that is the biggest f*cking c*nt move you can do. Leon’s mom, dad -- bad guy or good guy, it doesn’t matter. She raised a boy to be a f*cking man, to win a title and be a good man. A real f*king American would applaud him for that, he wouldn’t tear him down. Colby is a fake f*king p*ssy. If he were standing here right now, the only thing he would do is call 911 because he’s the definition of a f*cking b*tch.”
Strickland (28-5) is set to face South Africa's Dricus Du Plessis (20-2) for his first title defense on Jan. 20 at UFC 297. In the co-main event, Raquel Pennington will take on Mayra Bueno Silva for the vacant bantamweight title. The event will take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
