UFC 214 will take place one week earlier than originally expected.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced on Friday that the event, which was originally scheduled for Aug. 5, will now go down one week prior on July 29. No reason was given for the change in date.

UFC 214 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The promotion was originally supposed to travel to Anaheim for UFC 208 on Jan. 21. However, the event was postponed and the card scheduled for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Feb. 11 -- originally entitled UFC 209 -- became UFC 208 instead.

The organization last ventured to Anaheim for UFC 157, which saw Ronda Rousey retain her bantamweight crown with a first-round submission victory over Liz Carmouche in the first women’s bout in promotion history.
