UFC, Reebok Release New York-Themed Product Line for Madison Square Garden Debut
The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Reebok have collaborated to
release a New York-themed apparel line ahead of the promotion’s
Madison Square Garden debut on Nov. 12 (online betting).
According to a release, “UFC City Pack: New York is comprised of custom, city-inspired apparel, including a unique UFC Fight Kit made specifically for athletes competing in the global brand’s first-ever event in New York.”
The UFC City Pack: New York is the first-ever product line tailored
to a specific event in promotion history. It will feature apparel
for walkouts and weigh-ins including t-shirts, hoodies, shorts and
headwear.
“We’re excited to reveal our UFC City Pack: New York leading up to our historic event next Saturday at Madison Square Garden,” UFC Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Products Tracey Bleczinski said in a release. “This New York inspired and limited edition product line represents the strength of the city and its rich fighting history, while paying homage to the historical significance of hosting our first event at The World’s Most Famous Arena.”
“New York City holds an unmatched fighting heritage derived through a legendary boxing culture and history. UFC 205 will no doubt tap into that passion and excitement. The NYC-inspired UFC Fight Kit embodies the famous fight culture of the city,” Marc Leonardo, Design Director, Reebok Combat added. “We used a simple but stark color palette, incorporating black, white and silver. The iconography was raw and gritty – which evokes a mood that mirrors the community around New York City that is enamored with combat sports. The leather jacket and partnership with Schott N.Y.C was an exciting build to the pack, giving it a fusion of grit and style that NYC is synonymous for.”
UFC 205 marks the promotion’s first event in New York since the legalization of MMA in the state. The card is headlined by a lightweight championship clash between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor. Additionally, Tyron Woodley will defend the welterweight strap against Stephen Thompson, while Joanna Jedrzejczyk faces Karolina Kowalkiewicz for strawweight gold.
