Ultimate Fighting Championship has released three fighters from its roster, most notably former WEC title challenger Scott Jorgensen.
Jorgensen, who lost to Dominick Cruz in a bantamweight title bout at WEC 53 before moving to the Octagon, had a rough tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion. While competing both 135 and 125 pounds, “Young Guns” posted a 4-8 mark, including losses in six of his last seven outings. Jorgensen last competed at UFC Fight Night “Magny vs. Gastelum,” falling to Alejandro Perez via second-round TKO.
Also a WEC veteran, Roop tasted defeat in three of his last four Octagon appearances. The 6-foot-1 Apex MMA representative last fought in September, dropping a unanimous decision to Japanese veteran Takeya Mizugaki to bring his overall UFC record to 4-6.
Nam, known as “The Korean Bulldozer,” had a much briefer UFC stint. After taking a split verdict over Kazuki Tokudome in his debut at “The Ultimate Fighter: China” finale, Nam lost consecutive split decisions to Phillipe Nover and Mike de la Torre in his last two outings.
