The official figures are in for how much a UFC fighter will make under the recently-signed Reebok deal.
Fighters with one to five bouts’ experience will receive $2,500 under the tiered-payment system; those with six to 10 fights will get $5,000; 11 to 15 bouts will be paid $10,000; 16 to 20 fights earn $15,000 and fighters with 21 bouts or more will get $20,000. Champions will receive $40,000, while challengers in a title bout will get $30,000.
The UFC’s outfitting policy, a six-year deal worth $70 million, officially takes effect on July 6, 2015 during International Fight Week. At that time, fighters under the UFC banner will not be allowed to wear other sponsor logos at UFC events. In addition to the tiered payment system, athletes will receive a royalty from merchandise sold featuring their name or likeness.
According to a copy of the email obtained by MMAFighting.com, fighters will receive their Reebok sponsorship payment within 10 business days of their bout.
UFC rankings were initially to have determined fighter pay from the Reebok deal, but last month the organization announced that compensation would instead be determined by tenure.
