UFC Sets ‘TUF: Brazil 2’ Tryouts for Oct. 14 in Rio; Show to Feature Lightweights, Welterweights

The UFC will showcase 155- and 170-pound talent on the upcoming second season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.”

The promotion Monday announced that it will hold tryouts for the reality show at the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 14 -- the day after UFC 153 “Silva vs. Bonnar” takes place at Rio’s HSBC Arena.

The casting call is open to lightweight and welterweight fighters between the ages of 18 and 35, according to a release. All applicants must have a winning record and a minimum of three professional bouts, and former UFC fighters are not eligible.

Coaches have yet to be appointed for the season, which is expected to debut on Brazilian network Globo in March 2013. The first edition of “TUF: Brazil” aired in March and was coached by Brazilian veterans Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort. The season featured featherweight and middleweight tournaments, which were won by Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra (Pictured) and Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira, respectively.
