UFC Suspends Nate Diaz 90 Days, Fines Lightweight $20,000 for Violating Code of Conduct
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has suspended and fined Nate Diaz for his use of language in a recent tweet.
“UFC lightweight Nate Diaz has received an immediate 90-day suspension and $20,000 fine for violating the UFC’s fighter code of conduct,” UFC officials wrote in an official release. “The language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and inconsistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated. The money will be donated to charity.”

“I feel bad for Pat Healy that they took [an] innocent man’s money, and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest f-g in the world,” Diaz wrote Thursday.
Diaz, 28, is the latest UFC talent to be reprimanded for breaching the organization’s code of conduct. Last month, heavyweight competitor Matt Mitrione was also suspended and fined after calling transgender fighter Fallon Fox a “lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak.”
