The Ultimate Fighting Championship plans to visit Turkey and Poland for the first time in 2014.
UFC executive Garry Cook announced the news on Tuesday during a first look at EA Sports’ new UFC video game title at the Gamescom trade fair in Cologne, Germany. Cook also revealed that four previous UFC host countries will receive a visit from the promotion next year, including Germany, England, Sweden and Ireland. Specific event dates were not announced.
The UFC has held shows in Germany twice before, initially promoting UFC 99 in Cologne four years ago before returning in 2010 with UFC 122 in Oberhausen. Like Germany, Sweden has also hosted a pair of UFC events, with the organization holding both UFC on Fuel TV 2 and UFC on Fuel TV 9 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.
England has welcomed the UFC a total of 12 times since the promotion first visited in 2002, with London hosting half of those events. By contrast, Ireland has received just one UFC show, as the Las Vegas-based promotion set down in Dublin more than four years ago for UFC 93.
