The UFC is planning on taking a closer look at an incident in which Anthony Johnson insulted a women from his gym during a Facebook tirade.

Johnson apparently became upset when a woman attempted to stretch near an area where he was lifting weights, prompting the light heavyweight to call her “the ugly girl in the gym” in an angry social media rant. According to Johnson’s account, he threw the woman’s yoga mat across the gym during the altercation. “Rumble” later took to Facebook to apologize for the incident.

The Las Vegas-based promotion issued a statement on the situation Wednesday evening.

“UFC is aware of the situation involving Anthony Johnson. We take these matters seriously and have commenced a formal investigation by a third-party law firm,” the statement read. “We will act accordingly once we gather more information.”

The UFC already conducted a third-party investigation on Johnson after the mother of his two children filed a police report alleging she received death threats from the fighter’s friends. The report also claimed that Johnson hit her in the face and knocked out two of her teeth in 2012. Johnson was reinstated from indefinite suspension after the case was dismissed.

Johnson is scheduled to face Jimi Manuwa at UFC 191 on Sept. 5.
