A lightweight clash between Anthony Njokuani and Jonny Carson will headline Legacy Fighting Championship 41 in Tulsa, Okla., on April 3.
Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard announced the event on Wednesday evening. Njokuani is already scheduled to headline Legacy FC 38 against Thomas Gifford on Feb. 13.
The card takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa and also includes a women’s bantamweight showdown between Carina Damm and Valentina Shevchenko in the evening’s co-main event. The six-bout main card will air live on AXS-TV.
The 34-year-old Njokuani was released from the UFC following back-to-back defeats to Vinc Pichel and Daron Cruickshank last year. “The Assassin” posted a 3-5 record in the Octagon overall, with losses coming to notable talents such as Edson Barboza, Danny Castillo and Rafael dos Anjos.
Carson, meanwhile, is a veteran of the regional circuit and owns an 11-6 career record. “The King of Late Night” competed once for Bellator MMA, submitting to a Guillaume De Lorenzi guillotine choke in November 2012.
