According to a separate report from Texomas, McDaniel on his personal Facebook page allegedly threatened to put a bullet in the man’s head and offered $10,000 to anyone who could give his whereabouts. McDaniel also reportedly identified the man by name. At a residence at the 4800 block of Royal Oak, McDaniel told police several times that he planned to kill the man, according to an affidavit.
Another person on the scene said McDaniel had a gun on his hip and
was searching for ammunition prior to his arrest.
McDaniel appeared on the Slip N Dip podcast following his release and confirmed that he believes that man who was in a relationship with his son’s mother was responsible for the toddler’s death.
“I was told the man that she was with killed my son,” McDaniel said. “I can’t go into details on a lot of things on that because of the investigation, but I was told that my son was murdered.”
“The Ultimate Fighter 17” competitor also explained why he made the threats he did.
“The other night, I said some things,” McDaniel said. “I told everybody I wanted to kill him. I feel like I need to kill this man for my son or I’m not a man ... I told the cops, I’m not searching for him, but if I see him I’ll kill him.”
After appearing on the “TUF 17” reality show, McDaniel went 1-2 during a brief UFC stint. He has won seven of his last eight bouts while competing primarily on the regional circuit. His last fight was on April 18, a first-round stoppage of Leonardo Pecanha at an event promoted by UFC fighter Zak Cummings in Springfield, Mo.
