It didn’t take long for Arjan Singh Bhullar to find an opponent for his debut in One Championship. After taking to Twitter to announce his recent contract with the Singapore-based promotion, Bhullar is now reportedly set to lock horns with Italy’s Mauro Cerilli at One: Dawn Of Heroes. The news was first broken by Twitter personality Cerebral Vigilante, and confirmed by Sherdog’s own sources.
After losing to One heavyweight champion Brandon Vera in his promotional debut, “The Hammer” Cerilli (13-3) bounced back thanks to some vicious knees to the head which sent Alain Ngalani to the canvas in their encounter at One Championship: Reign of Valor. Given the depth of One’s heavyweight division, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the winner of this match being rewarded with a shot at the belt held by “The Truth.”
One: Dawn Of Heroes will go down on Aug. 2 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila. It is scheduled to be headlined by a featherweight title fight, with former two-division champion Martin Nguyen (12-3) defending his title against Koyomi Masushima (11-3). The card also features high-profile UFC veterans Eddie Alvarez (29-7), who takes on Eduard Folayang (21-7) in a lightweight bout, and Demetrious Johnson (28-3-1), who faces Tadamitsu Wada (21-10-2) in a semifinal of One’s flyweight Grand Prix.
