Karate Combat, a full contact striking league with eight weight classes, announced on Monday that Alvey has signed with the organization for a Sept. 16 debut in the Dominican Republic. An opponent was not revealed.

Alvey famously exited the UFC following an 0-8-1 streak that lasted from September 2018 until August 2022. Overall, āSmileān Samā went 10-13-1 in the Las Vegas-based promotion with notable wins against the likes of Rashad Evans and Nate Marquardt. He is 34-18-1 over the course of an MMA tenure that began in 2008.
Alvey returned to the win column this past May, when he defeated Cameron Graham via third-round TKO at B2 Fight Series 183 in Columbus, Georgia.
