UFC on FX 1 Loses Jimmo-Vemola; Replacement Sought for Madadi

Injuries have altered the undercard for UFC on FX 1, the promotion announced via Twitter on Friday night.

A light heavyweight bout between Ryan Jimmo and Karlos Vemola has been scratched due to an injury suffered by Jimmo, while Reza Madadi is out of his lightweight encounter with Fabricio Camoes. It is the second time an injury has affected the latter bout, as Camoes was originally a replacement for Rafaello Oliveira. Camoes’ new opponent will be announced at a later date.

Emanating from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., UFC on FX 1 is headlined by a lightweight tussle between Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard. Four main card bouts will air on FX, while the remaining preliminary fights will be shown on Fuel TV.

The Maximum Fighting Championships 205-pound title holder, Jimmo was to make his UFC debut against Vemola. The 30-year-old Hayabusa Training Centre representative has won his last 16 contests. Vemola, meanwhile, is 1-2 in the Octagon and was looking to rebound from a loss to Ronny Markes at UFC Live 5. Madadi, also set to make his promotional debut, had won six fights in a row, with his most recent victory coming against UFC veteran Rich Clementi in April.
