Jeremy Larsen vs. Lucas Martins

Round 1
Martins lands a couple leg kicks outside, then one to the body, and the crowd is reacting for the Brazilian early. Larsen gets hold of a leg, can’t take Martins down, but cracks him with a right hand against the fence. Martins has to defend a single-leg on the fence for a moment, then gets slugged with an elbow as Larsen backs off. Larsen hits a counter-punch off a leg kick, comes up just short with a leaping knee to the body. A straight right hand puts Martins on his posterior. Larsen stands over him and Martins goes for a leg, then a calf slicer. Larsen pulls his leg free and holds the now-standing Martins on the fence. They get off the cage with about two minutes left in the round. Both men swinging punches now, neither landing anything clean, but Martins pops Larsen with a knee as the American shoots in and hits a takedown. Martins stands up and is immediately double-legged back to the mat. Martins is soon back on his feet again, and now he’s putting together punches on Larsen. The Brazilian slips on a leg kick and Larsen comes down to Martins’ guard for the final 30 seconds of the round.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Larsen
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Larsen
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Larsen

Round 2
Martins zaps Larsen with a nice uppercut, but the American stands firm in the middle of the cage to continue striking. Larsen comes in behind a big overhand right and holds Martins on the fence. Larsen works on a single-leg for a few seconds, backs up and gets hit with a short punch. Back on the single-leg goes Larsen; he doesn’t try long this time, backing out with just over three minutes left in the frame. Larsen eats a straight punch and counters with a left hook, but the punch from Martins seems to have opened up a large cut under Larsen’s right eye. Martins lands an uppercut as Larsen walks him down on the fence and goes after another single-leg. A clubbing left hook from Larsen backs Martins off. A pair of hard right hands has Martins on rubbery legs again, but Larsen just can’t polish him off. Another wide right knocks the spit out of Martins’ mouth before the end of the round.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Larsen
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Larsen
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Larsen

Round 3
Larsen rushes at Martins, throwing punches, and eats a right on the jaw from the Brazilian. Larsen falls on his face and Martins lands a couple hammer-fists before referee Mario Yamasaki can intervene. The official time of the stoppage is 13 seconds of round three, with Lucas Martins scoring a knockout for his first UFC win.

Chris Cariaso vs. Jussier “Formiga” da Silva

Round 1
Formiga puts Cariaso on the fence, working a high double-leg and putting the American on the floor less than one minute into the round. Cariaso stands and is instantly tripped back down, where Formiga begins working to take the back. Cariaso goes to his back and throws up a triangle which is easily slipped by the Brazilian. Formiga quickly moves from half-guard to side control on Cariaso’s left, then nearly steps into full mount but is blocked. Cariaso regains half-guard, almost gets full but can’t escape Formiga’s active top control. Referee Kevin Mulhall pauses the action to remove loose tape from Formiga’s glove, and then bafflingly restarts the fighters standing up. Formiga lands an inside leg kick and puts Cariaso on the fence before the end of the round.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 da Silva
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 da Silva
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 da Silva

Round 2
Formiga connects with a short punch and trips Cariaso to the canvas almost instantly. The Brazilian moves straight into full mount, but Cariaso regains half-guard. Formiga back to side control on Cariaso’s right side, then gets stuffed back to half-guard. With three minutes left in the round, Cariaso has his man in guard; 15 seconds later, da Silva is back in full mount. Formiga unloads with a couple punches on top before being pushed out to guard once again. Ref Mulhall stands them up with 1:45 left in the round and Cariaso clips Formiga with a right hook before being shoved against the fence. Formiga lets go and they’re back to feinting and pawing with punches for the last 40 seconds. Cariaso lands a long left and stuffs a shot, putting a knee on Formiga’s ribs before the end of the frame.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 da Silva
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 da Silva
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 da Silva

Round 3
Cariaso nearly escapes an early single-leg attempt, but Formiga runs him against the fence and finishes the takedown. The Brazilian isn’t mounting anything in the way of offense as he holds Cariaso on the cage, and ref Mulhall breaks them up with three minutes remaining in the fight. Cariaso is connecting with sporadic punches until da Silva puts him on the cage again with another single-leg. Cariaso sinks a brabo choke with under two minutes left and drags Formiga to the ground. Formiga twists out, but Cariaso is able to stay on top and open up a cut on Formiga’s left eye with elbows. Cariaso tries to pound out the Brazilian with elbows and punches, most of which are blocked. Formiga gets to his feet just before the horn and is met by a knee from Cariaso; this one is headed to the scorecards.

Azamat Gashimov vs. John Lineker

Round 1
Lineker rips a left to the body and a right hand up top to back Gashimov off. Gashimov tries to come forward with some punches of his own and eats a massive right hand. Lineker pounces and tries to keep the Russian on the floor, but Gashimov scrambles up. He eats a knee from Lineker before the Brazilian puts him on the cage. Gashimov shoves off and circles out, where Lineker begins stalking again. Gashimov shoots in for a takedown and Lineker shoves him to the ground with an underhook. Lineker works from Gashimov’s open guard, postures up and grinds with elbows on top. Gashimov gets to one knee, takes a knee to the body and escapes to his feet. Gashimov still looks fresh as he bounces on his toes in front of Lineker, though the Russian’s face is bearing the marks from Lineker’s early offense. Another right hand connects for Lineker, who’s still looking for the homerun shot. A left-right combo scores for Lineker, who chases Gashimov around the perimeter. Gashimov grabs the fence as he tries to resist a Lineker takedown, and referee Mario Yamasaki is quick to deduct a point from Gashimov.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-7 Lineker
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-7 Lineker
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-8 Lineker

Round 2
Lineker is back to stalking Gashimov early, moving the sambo specialist around the outside. The left hand is scoring for Lineker now, swiping across Gashimov’s face and leaving him stunned while Lineker follows up with rights to the body. A body kick and a right hand to the ribs put Gashimov down at the base of the fence, and follow-up punches force referee Yamasaki to intervene at 1:07 of the second round, giving John Lineker the stoppage victory.

Roger Hollett vs. Fabio Maldonado

Round 1
Hollett swings a wild overhand right as he tries to walk Maldonado against the fence. Maldonado moves to the middle and blocks a pair of punches from the Canadian, backing up. Hollett backs Maldonado against the fence again and throws a spinning back-kick straight to Maldonado’s cup. The Brazilian is laid out on the canvas in pain as referee Leon Roberts pauses the action. Maldonado tells the ref that he doesn’t want to see the doctor and gets to his feet. The fight resumes after another minute, and now it’s Maldonado moving Hollett around the outside. Hollett hits a double-leg in the middle of the cage with three minutes left in the round and works to pass Maldonado’s half-guard. Referee Roberts stands them up with about two minutes left, a questionable decision considering Hollett’s top position. Hollett puts Maldonado on the fence again, eating a couple knees and punches to the body from the Brazilian as they clinch. Roberts breaks them up again with a minute to go and Hollett hits another takedown. Maldonado tries a guillotine, loses it and finishes the round with Hollett on top, in half-guard.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Hollett
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Hollett
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Hollett

He tries to grab a low single-leg and Maldonado spins out. Maldonado pushes Hollett against the cage and starts ripping shots to the body inside. Maldonado keeps landing with uppercuts in the clinch and mixes in a few elbows up top. Hollett turns him around, lands a body shot of his own, but eats a hard combo from Maldonado. They move to the other side of the cage, where Maldonado bullies Hollett on the fence with uppercuts again. Hollett turns it around and Maldonado escapes with a body shot. Hollett looks for a single-leg with one minute left in the round. Maldonado puts his back on the fence and defends the takedown, socking Hollett with short right hands and mugging to the audience a bit. Maldonado is racking up the body shots in the last half-minute, and he finishes the round waving Hollett forward.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Maldonado
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Maldonado
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Maldonado

Round 3
Hollett changes levels on an incoming Maldonado and hits a single-leg, but Maldonado pops right back up and puts Hollett’s back on the fence. Maldonado instantly begins attacking the body with uppercuts and hooks, punishing Hollett with a couple up top before the Canadian manages to reverse the position. Maldonado quickly gets back on the outside and goes back to blasting Hollett with punches to the body and head. Maldonado is playing with his food a bit now, letting Hollett stumble around the outside before picking a spot to clinch and attack. More uppercuts rock the ribs of an exhausted Hollett, who somehow spins around and escapes Maldonado’s grasp. Hollett tries to throw some punches, a standing elbow, but he’s way short. He leans Maldonado against the fence and Maldonado loops punches around the back of Hollett’s head before complaining to the ref of Hollett’s inactivity. Ref Roberts breaks them up with 30 seconds left and Maldonado hits a takedown to finish the fight on top.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Maldonado (29-28 Maldonado)

Alcantara breaks free and walks Santos into the cage again, attacking with kicks and punches. Santos creates some space and stays out of range as Alcantara walks forward. Santos eats a body kick and then drops under the force of a crushing left hand from Alcantara. “Marajo” blasts his dazed opponent with precise punches from the standing position and ref Kevin Mulhall moves in to wave this one off. Iuri Alcantara gets the knockout win at 2:31 of the first round.

Paulo Thiago vs. Michel Richard dos Prazeres

Round 1
Prazeres throws low kicks outside and keeps his hands in front of him, trying to fend off the larger Thiago. A double-leg attempt winds up with Prazeres holding Thiago on the fence using an underhook. Prazeres tries to toss Thiago to the ground, gets the UFC vet to his knees and looks to take the back. Thiago thwarts it and shoves Prazeres to the ground briefly. “Tractor” pops back up and holds Thiago on the fence again until midway through the round when referee Mario Yamasaki splits them up for inactivity. Prazeres keeps working leg kicks and trying to stay on the outside of Thiago’s punches. A couple jabs get through for Thiago, but Prazeres is doing well to move out of the way. Prazeres ducks a wide left hook and puts Thiago on the fence with underhooks for the last 20 seconds.

Prazeres explodes out and tries to clinch on the cage again, but Thiago throws him to the floor and looks to work from the north-south position. Prazeres gets up again, pushes Thiago to the fence and now hits a takedown of his own while holding Thiago with a rear waistlock. Prazeres fends off a throw attempt from Thiago, connects with a hard left hand and puts Thiago on his seat at the base of the fence. Prazeres can’t pass with Thiago sitting up against the cage, but he’s able to hold Thiago on the ground. Prazeres tries a loose headlock and Thiago bursts out, turns the corner to take top position. Thiago closes out the round working for a mounted crucifix.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Thiago
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Thiago
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Thiago

Thiago strings together a couple combinations, holds Prazeres on the fence briefly. Prazeres gets loose and puts Thiago on the cage until halfway through the round, when ref Yamasaki restarts them. Prazeres is on the outside now, with Thiago nearer to the cage, and it’s “Tractor” landing some hard left hands. Thiago gets to the middle of the cage and whacks Prazeres with a Brazilian kick. They clinch along the fence again and Prazeres gains the advantage, but Thiago trips him to the ground with a quick move. Thiago moves to full mount with 10 seconds left and tries to pound out Prazeres, but time runs out.

Tibau catches a body kick and shoves Cholish to the floor. Cholish is quickly back up, eating an elbow as the lightweights separate. Tibau catches another kick and forces Cholish to roll out before he’s tripped down. Tibau dumps Cholish to the base of the fence with a big double-leg at the 90-second mark. Cholish gets back up and they resume moving around the outside, neither man landing any big offense in the final minute. Tibau finishes the round leaning Cholish on the fence.

Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Tibau
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Tibau

Round 2
Not much action through the first minute of the middle frame, with both lightweights feinting and looking for the range. They tie up and it’s Tibau putting Cholish against the fence, but he can’t hold the American there for long. Tibau catches a Cholish kick, can’t take advantage. Cholish wings a wild punch and eats a big, left-handed counter from Tibau that takes out Cholish’s legs. A right straight from Tibau puts Cholish on his knees, shooting for a desperation takedown, and Tibau takes advantage by pulling guard with a guillotine. The first choke doesn’t stick, so Tibau adjusts and tries again, this time forcing Cholish to submit almost instantly. Gleison Tibau gets the win via submission at 2:34 of the second round.

Mike Rio vs. Francisco Trinaldo

Round 1
The southpaw Trinaldo connects with a hard left straight in the first 30 seconds of the bout. Another left finds its mark before Rio changes levels and hits a takedown in the center of the cage. Rio has a loose headlock in north-south, now with “Massaranduba” on his knees, trying to drive forward. Rio hooks the leg of Trinaldo, then lets go and tightens the guillotine. Trinaldo pops his head loose but eats a pair of punches as he does. Now the Brazilian takes the outside as the lightweights clinch on the fence. They trade knees to the body, split and Massaranduba comes forward with an uppercut to Rio’s ribs. Trinaldo uses a body-lock to drag Rio to the ground, then starts framing up an arm-triangle choke from half-guard on Rio’s right side. Trinaldo is still in half-guard, posturing up, when Rio taps out at the 3:08 mark.

A three-piece combo comes together for the American as he explodes forward. Dias defends another takedown try by widening his base against the fence. Dias turns him around and works for a body-lock takedown, finally gets it and is swept immediately. Lentz grabs hold of Dias’ back and tries to sink his hooks, but Dias twists around and takes Lentz’s back with a waist-lock. Dias tries to post and escape with his left arm, so Lentz goes after a kimura on the right. Lentz can’t hold on to the arm as Dias gets to his feet, but “The Carny” is able to hold Dias on the cage as soon as they stand. Under two minutes left in the round now and Lentz sweeps the leg of Dias, then gets his left hook in again. Dias stands and gets put on his back, where Lentz grinds for a moment before standing and looking to pass. Lentz gets in on a single-leg and holds Dias on the fence. Dias breaks out and tags Lentz with a couple more punches before taking the outside position himself. Dias goes for a takedown, so Lentz counters with a guillotine. Dias frees his head with 3:20 left in the fight and frames up an arm-triangle choke. Dias is still in half-guard, squeezing the choke, but Lentz won’t tap. Lentz gets his arm in to free up some space and releases himself from the arm-triangle. Dias stays on top despite a near-sweep from Lentz, and now the Brazilian shoves Lentz back to the ground with 1:40 on the clock. Dias needs a finish here, but Lentz is doing well to wrap up on the bottom, holding Dias in a kimura before pushing away and scrambling back to his feet. Zeferino responds by landing a left hook and a right straight, but neither blow hurts his foe. Natal whiffs on a spinning backfist, but Zeferino cannot capitalize, instead flopping to his back.
