Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, Lyman Good, Alex Oliveira and Junior Albini all took home $50,000 post-fight bonuses for their work at UFC on Fox 25 on Saturday night.
Dos Santos and Good received “Fight of the Night” honors for their back-and-forth welterweight scrap on the preliminary draw. While both men landed their fair share of significant offense, it was dos Santos who ultimately prevailed in a hard-fought split decision.
Elsewhere, Alex Oliveira garnered the evening’s other “Performance of the Night” check for a spectacular second-round knockout of Ryan LaFlare in a preliminary welterweight clash. After spending most of the opening stanza on the mat, the Brazilian “Cowboy” blasted his foe with a counter uppercut in the second round, ending the bout instantly at the 1:50 mark.
Finally, debuting heavyweight Junior Albini made a strong first impression in the Octagon, earning a “Performance of the Night” paycheck for his first-round stoppage of Timothy Johnson. A left hook put Johnson on the retreat, and the Brazilian followed up with a knee, another left hook and a right hand to drop his opponent. A few follow-up punches on the ground sealed the deal 2:51 into round one.
