Austin Arnett vs. Cory Sandhagen

Round 1

Sandhagen opens with a few inside leg kicks as he tries to get inside on Arnett with fakes and feints. The Colorado native sticks a jab, then lands a right hand before clinching Arnett against the fence. Sandhagen continues to work Arnett's lead leg, now goes to the body with a kick. Arnett leans into a right hand, then goes upright and gets kicked hard to the body again. Sandhagen is mixing up his strikes wonderfully, going body-head with a variety of punches and spinning kicks. Halfway through the round, Sandhagen plows Arnett to the floor with a takedown, then stands over the "Golden Boy," dropping heavy right hands. Arnett grabs for a leg, can't get anything going, eats a few more punches before jumping back to his feet. Sandhagen backpedals, holding his hands low as Arnett presses forward. Arnett hits him with a couple punches clean to the face, but Sandhagen just shrugs at him and punches back. Arnett gets shoved against the fence with 30 seconds left, but he reverses with an underhook and finishes the round holding Sandhagen on the fence.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Sandhagen
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Sandhagen
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Sandhagen

Round 2

Sandhagen starts the round with more leg kicks, then snaps back Arnett's head with a stiff jab. A left hook crashes into Arnett's face before Sandhagen chops at both of his legs with another pair of kicks. Arnett initiates a clinch, but Sandhagen spins to take his back, then disengages with a standing elbow strike. Arnett tangles up with Sandhagen again, tries to jump on his back while standing, but Sandhagen shakes him off and escapes out the backdoor. As soon as Arnett is on the floor, Sandhagen postures up and splits him open with a heavy elbow. Arnett elevates and scrambles back to his feet, only to be met by a Sandhagen spinning backfist. Arnett is still coming forward but he's at a clear speed disadvantage. Sandhagen lands a beautiful left hand to the liver, adds on a couple knees, then finally folds Arnett with another punch to the gut. Arnett drops to his knees, Sandhagen lands a few follow-up punches on the floor, and referee Joseph Hawes steps in to stop the bout.

The Official Result

Cory Sandhagen def. Austin Arnett via TKO (Punches) R2 3:48

Niko Price vs. George Sullivan

Round 1

Sullivan takes the ceter of the cage and tries to find his range against fellow 6-foot welterweight Price, who circles to his right around the outside. Price threatens with a front kick up the center to force Sullivan back out of range. The fighters trade leg kicks, then Sullivan explodes forward with a three-piece combo that ends with a clean right hook. Price changes levels and drives on Sullivan with a single-leg, pushing the New Jerseyan against the fence. Sullivan tries to underhook and escape, but Price tosses him to the ground. Price lands in side control, though Sullivan quickly shifts and puts him in half guard. Sullivan scoots to the fence and stands up, though Price is keeping the pressure on, pinning "The Silencer" to the wall. Sullivan lands a knee to the body, defends another takedown attempt, then goes hunting for a takedown of his own. Sullivan botches the takedown and gets stuffed to his back again, putting Price in his guard with 40 seconds left. The welterweights scramble up at the end of the round, and Price pops Sullivan with a pair of punches right at the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Price
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Price
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Price

Round 2

Price starts round two on the offensive, pressuring Sullivan backward to the fence and firing off heavy combinations. One particularly hard right hand seems to sting Sullivan, who immediately shoots and completes a takedown. Price tries an armbar, can't get it, and Sullivan makes him pay with a couple hard right hands to the face. Sullivan adds a few elbows now, staying heavy on top as Price tries to elevate or entangle him. Price is cut open above the right eyebrow, and Sullivan is trying to add to the damage with even more elbows from top position. Price grabs for a leg, then switches to an omoplata; "The Hybrid" uses the latter to sweep, planting Sullivan at the base of the fence with 70 seconds on the clock. Sullivan grabs for a kimura from guard, but he winds up leaving his back open, and Price wastes no time in securing back-mount. Sullivan leaves his neck exposed for a split second, and that's all that Price needs to whip his right arm around and apply a rear-naked choke. Sullivan knows he's caught and taps out straight away.

The Official Result

Niko Price def. George Sullivan via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R2 4:21

Vinc Pichel vs. Joaquim Silva

Round 1

Silva circles backward toward the fence, gets his foot caught in the base and stumbles momentarily, allowing Pichel to jump forward and land a right hand. After the brief exchange, the lightweights go back to striking from distance, with Pichel controlling the center of the cage and the shorter Silva circling the outside. Pichel lands a few good leg kicks, tries to go to the body but can't locate the Brazilian. Silva scores with a body kick of his own but doesn't follow up as the fight's slow pace continues through the middle of the round. Silva pushes Pichel backward with a glancing high kick, then lands a right hand over the top. Now it's Silva controlling the center of the cage, moving Pichel around the perimeter. Silva slips during an exchange and hits the floor, but he jumps back to his feet before Pichel can capitalize.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Pichel
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Pichel
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Pichel

Round 2

Pichel takes the center of the cage again and resumes his attempts to pressure Silva around the outside. As in round one, Silva is evasive, forcing Pichel to chase him around and never staying in range for "From Hell" to strike. Pichel lands a few good leg kicks, inside and out, and catches Silva against the fence with a combination. Silva comes out to the center but doesn't find much except a glancing front kick to the body. Pichel presses forward with a high outside leg kick, then clinches and drives a knee into Silva's midsection. Pichel sticks a jab, then explodes forward with an uppercut, his best punch of the round coming just before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Pichel
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Pichel
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Pichel

Round 3

Silva takes the center of the cage and ducks low as Pichel tries to take his head off with a right high kick. Pichel gets backed up to the fence, but he puts a front kick in Silva's midsection before swiping a right hand across his face. Pichel catches a kick and trips Silva to the ground, but "Netto BJJ" is back on his feet within a few seconds. Silva keeps the pressure on and comes over the top with a right hand, one of his best shots of the fight so far. Halfway through the final round, both men whiff on wild overhand punches, then Pichel steps inside to deliver a knee to the gut. Silva is coming forward, but it's Pichel landing kicks to the legs and body. With one minute left, Silva lands a lead uppercut-right hook combo, then flashes a right cross on Pichel's face. Pichel hits a quick takedown, can't keep Silva on the floor. As the lightweights climb back to their feet, Pichel hits Silva with a pair of hard knees to the midsection. Both fighters land right hands in the last 10 seconds, and this one will be decided by the judges.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Silva (29-28 Pichel)

Justine Kish vs. Ji Yeon Kim

Round 1

Kish takes the center of the cage and presses out on Kim, who flicks out long jabs to keep the shorter woman out of range. Kish lands a few hard low kicks; Kim responds with a straight right hand that immediately reddens Kish's left eye. Kish gets aggressive and charges into the pocket, where Kim is waiting with another hard counter right hand. Kish tries a high kick, slips to the ground but jumps up before Kim can capitalize. Kish is having trouble finding her range against the taller, longer flyweight, while Kim continues to land successfully with one-twos and crisp counter right hands.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Kim
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Kish
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Kim

Round 2

Kish continues to pressure Kim from the center of the cage at the onset of round two, but again Kim is evasive with her speedy movement around the outside. Kish tries to clinch up, can't keep hold of "Fire Fist," and the flyweights go back to circling. Neither fighter is having much success on the feet through two minutes, but now Kish lands a reaching right hand, followed by a low kick. Kim steps out to the center, takes a low kick and fires back at Kish with a pair of straight punches. Inside the two-minute mark, Kish goes to the body with a kick, eats a right hand over the top, then goes body-head with a pair of hooks. Kish slugs Kim with a pair of left hands in quick succession; the American is finding much more success in the striking exchanges here in the second frame.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Kish
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Kish
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Kish

Round 3

Kish throws a few unorthodox kicks at the start of the round, and Kim makes her pay with some clean counter punches. Kish lands a low kick-left hook combination that rocks Kim's head to the side. Kish slips throwing a low kick, jumps back to her feet and tags Kim with an uppercut. Kim comes away from the exchange holding her left eye, and referee Dan Miragliotta steps in to pause the fight, apparently due to an eye poke. Kim recovers quickly and comes back out with renewed aggression, forcing Kish onto her back foot. Kish eats a straight right, a left hook, and comes away from the exchange with a bloody nose. With half a round remaining, Kim is coming on strong, landing clean combinations and head-shot counters, while Kish is starting to pull up short on her punches. Kish lands a body kick, eats a right hand in return. With 60 seconds on the clock, Kim is gunning for a finish, but Kish is evasive, fighting off her back foot and not letting Kim get close enough to inflict more damage.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Kim (29-28 Kim)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Kish (29-28 Kish)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Kim (29-28 Kim)

Juliana Lima vs. Randa Markos

Round 1

Markos muscles the taller fighter against the fence with an underhook, tries for an early takedown but can't hit the trip. Lima reverses to the outside, only to be spun around again moments later. The strawweights spent the first half of the round in the clinch, neither woman doing any damaging work. Markos throws a few knees to Lima's legs, tries the trip again but still can't get it. Lima uses over-unders to reverse again, and now "Ju Thai" goes in search of a takedown. With 40 seconds on the clock, Lima completes a takedown, landing in Markos' half guard. Markos sweeps to top position and mounts Lima for the final few seconds of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-10
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Markos
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-10

Round 2

Lima secures a takedown inside the opening minute of round two, jamming Markos up against the base of the fence. "Ju Thai" works from Markos' guard, but Markos has the Brazilian's legs triangled, effectively turning the position into a stalemate. Referee Joseph Hawes orders the strawweights back to their feet with just over three minutes on the clock. Now it's Markos scoring a takedown, stepping over to full mount and dropping left hands. Lima pushes the "Quiet Storm" back to half guard, but it doesn't deter Markos from posturing up and landing right hands to the face. Markos leans across to drive elbows into the right side of Lima's body, and finishes the round on top.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Markos
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Markos
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Markos

Round 3

Markos charges forward with a flurry of five or six punches, but it's the counter right hand of Lima that lands hardest in the exchange. Lima clinches up and puts Markos on the fence, only to be tripped to the ground by the Canadian. Markos steps over to mount, then winds up in back-mount as Lima rolls onto her stomach. Lima reclaims half guard, but not before absorbing several punches from the woman on top. Markos is accumulating significant top time here, passing to side control and flattening Lima as they hit the midway point of the round. Lima tries to wall-walk and escape, but Markos is heavy on top. The second effort from Lima allows her to roll onto her knees, then post and stand. Markos keeps the Brazilian trapped on the fence with an underhook, now drives a knee into her midsection. Referee Hawes calls for action, and Markos stays just busy enough with her knees to maintain the position. Lima reverses to the outside and works for a trip, but it doesn't materialize before the final horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Markos (30-28 Markos)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Markos (30-27 Markos)

Mara Romero Borella vs. Katlyn Chookagian

Round 1

Chookagian fires off long, straight punches and high kicks, not landing much of anything but successfully fending off the advances of Borella in the opening minute. The flyweights trade low kicks; Borella adds a few more leg kicks after finding her timing and countering Chookagian's jabs. Chookagian continues to throw strike after strike without landing, connecting at roughly a 15-percent clip through the first four minutes. One jab from Chookagian finds its home and starts some swelling underneath Borella's eye in the late stages of round one.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Borella
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Borella
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Borella

Round 2

The flyweights trade low kicks and jabs in the opening minute, but again Chookagian is throwing out a lot of offense with a low connect rate. Borella remains more measured, working from the center of the cage and waiting to counter Chookagian's jabs. Halfway through the round, Borella waits for a kick and then drives forward, jamming Chookagian against the fence. Chookagian breaks free a few seconds later, but not before eating a knee in the the clinch. Borella maintains the center of the cage in the second half of the round, though she continues to be very conservative in her striking. Chookagian, meanwhile, keeps circling the outside, flicking out long punches and low kicks while not landing anything particularly damaging.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Chookagian
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Borella
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-10

Round 3

Chookagian comes over the top with a right hand, landing clean but taking a chop to her lead leg in return. Borella tries a takedown, reaching for Chookagian's legs from a mile out, and is easily shoved away by the "Blonde Fighter." Borella puts a pair of punches on Chookagian, then a low kick, now steps inside to wrap up Chookagian on the fence. Borella hits a quick takedown, but almost as soon as the fighters hit the floor, Chookagian throws up a triangle choke. Borella pulls her head free but has to stand up to do so, allowing Chookagian back to her feet as well. Chookagian is the busier fighter down the stretch, though still not very effective. Borella shoots a late single-leg but can't find the takedown before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Chookagian (29-28 Chookagian)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Chookagian (29-28 Borella)

Godofredo Castro vs. Mirsad Bektic

Round 1

Castro flashes a few spinning kicks at the shorter Bektic, who keeps his distance from the Brazilian in the first minute of the bout. When Bektic steps inside to try and tie up, "Pepey" blasts him with an uppercut and then quickly disengages from the ensuing clinch. Castro comes over the top with a right hand that seems to get the attention of Bektic, who's still sticking to the outside in the middle of the round. Bektic backs up Pepey to the fence, fakes a shot which gets Pepey to throw a knee, then blows up the Brazilian with a right hand to the body. Castro clutches his midsection and slumps to the ground as referee Kevin MacDonald steps in to rescue him from further damage.

The Official Result

Mirsad Bektic def. Godofredo Castro via KO (Punch to the Body) R1 2:47

Bobby Green vs. Erik Koch

Round 1

The southpaw Koch opens with a few inside leg kicks, then goes to the body of Green with a thudding kick. A long jab snaps back the head of Green, who continues to press forward, constantly stepping into the pocket. Both lightweights are sniping early on, but it's the left hand of Koch landing the strongest through the first minute. Green lands a hard one-two as he backs up Koch to the fence, and now the "King" jams Koch against the wall with an underhook. Koch pushes off the fence and stuffs a takedown attempt from Green, and now the lightweights are back to striking with half the round remaining. Koch initiates the clinch this time, and he trips Green to the floor at the base of the wall. Koch has an arm-triangle choke framed up, but Green's left side is flush to the fence, giving Koch no room to stretch out and finish the choke. Green rolls over to try and escape, giving up his back, and Koch immediately attaches himself with both hooks. Green fights off a rear-naked choke attempt, peels Koch off his back and scrambles to his feet. Green gets a standing rear bodylock in the final 10 seconds, releases and zaps Koch with a hard right hand at the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Koch
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Koch
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Koch

Round 2

Koch lands a kick to the body, then a long left hand as he pressures Green in the opening minute. Green takes a turn moving forward, digs into the body of Koch with a right hand and then clinches up. Green scores with a knee to the gut before exiting the clinch, backs Koch up to the fence and slams his body with a kick. Halfway through the round, Green seems to be taking control, connecting at a higher clip and using good head movement to slip Koch's left hand. Green is talking to Koch a bit after bloodying the Roufusport product's nose. Green marches forward on Koch with his hands by his waist, inviting "New Breed" to take a shot. Koch whiffs on a left hand and takes a straight right to the midsection in return. Green's nose is bloody at the end of the round, too, but he continues to bring the fight to Koch with constant forward pressure.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Green
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Green
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Green

Round 3

Green lands a sizzling right hand in the first 30 seconds of the bout, immediately forcing Koch onto his back foot. There's more offense from Green in a brief clinch, driving knees into Koch's breadbasket as the "King" continues his nonstop body work. Koch gets hold of Green and tries to push him against the cage. As soon as his back hits the fence, however, Green reverses and then changes levels to put Koch on the ground. Green postures up in Koch's half guard, grinding on the Iowan's face with elbows. Koch hits a sweep and takes top position, but it's only a matter of seconds before Green hits the switch and reclaims top. Green is in cross side control now, leaning right to left across Koch's body as they fight at the base of the fence. Under 60 seconds on the clock as Green grinds away with short punches to Koch's body and head. Koch is trying to do something from the bottom, but Green postures up and wails away with punches, finishing the round and the fight with an emphatic bit of offense.

Frank Camacho vs. Drew Dober

Round 1

Dober connects with a right hand and a leg kick before Camacho comes inside to clinch. Both welterweights land short punches as they tie up, but once Camacho has Dober wrapped up, it's only a few seconds before they hit the ground. Camacho lands in side control on Dober's right side, but the Saipan native is unable to do anything with the position before Dober rolls to his knees and climbs back to his feet. Camacho slips a left hand from the southpaw and rips an uppercut into Dober's body. Dober goes back to his leg kick, though one of them strays high and inside; Camacho motions that he's OK, and they fight on. Dober clinches up and feeds Camacho a couple left hands before they hit the fence. Camacho eats an elbow as they grapple on the wall, then rips Dober off the cage and trips him to the mat. There's one minute left as Camacho works from Dober's half guard, seemingly hunting for an arm-triangle choke. Dober throws up an armbar but Camacho slips out immediately. Dober posts and scrambles to his feet in the final 10 seconds, only to be wobbled by Camacho's final right hand of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Camacho
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Camacho
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Camacho

Round 2

Camacho lands an uppercut and stuffs a shot from Dober in the first 30 seconds. Dober keeps trying for the takedown, has to fend off a guillotine attempt and gets swept to the bottom by "Frank the Crank." The welterweights scramble back to their feet, where Dober gets aggressive and starts to hurt Camacho with his combinations. All of a sudden, Camacho looks exhausted, swaying on his feet with his back to the fence as Dober sizes him up for more left hands to the body and head. Camacho survives the onslaught, and now Dober sucks in a deep breath. Dober quickly reapplies pressure, backing Camacho up to the wall and assaulting him with nonstop punches and low kicks. Camacho circles away to the other side of the fence and catches the incoming Dober with a right hand. Soon, though, it's Dober on the ascent again, overwhelming Camacho with volume striking, including a steady stream of jabs and uppercuts. Camacho seems hurt by the latter, but he slams Dober with a big hook on the jaw that slows the Nebraskan's roll. Dober gets the last word in round two with a pair of right hooks to Camacho's jaw.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Dober
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Dober
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Dober

Round 3

Both men connect with hooks in the first 20 seconds, then Camacho shuts down a double-leg attempt. Dober remains the busier man in the early going of round three, mixing up his strikes with head and body punches, kicks to the legs. Dober shoots a single this time, running Camacho against the fence. "Frank the Crank" uses Dober's momentum for a takedown as they bounce off the fence, landing in half guard and immediately trying an arm-triangle choke. Dober's head is too high, and Camacho quickly gives up on the choke in order to stand up. Half a round remains as Camacho deposits a step-in knee to Dober's breadbasket, answered by Dober with a slapping body kick. Dober rocks Camacho's head with a blasting straight left; Camacho keeps coming, looking for a knockout with a spinning backfist that Dober easily avoids. Camacho is staying busy down the stretch, but it's Dober doing the cleaner, more accurate striking. Dober eats a hard left hand and tries a double-leg; Camacho doesn't budge and blasts the American with another hard hook. Both men raise their hands at the final horn; the judges have their work cut out for them scoring this one.

Gregor Gillespie vs. Jordan Rinaldi

Round 1

Gillespie presses out from the center and walks through the punches of Rinaldi in order to land a heavy hook. Rinaldi circles away and touches Gillespie with a jab. Gillespie changes levels and tries a low single-leg/ankle pick, but Rinaldi keeps his balance and fends off the wrestler's first takedown attempt. Gillespie's next shot plants Rinaldi on his back in the center of the cage, and the New Yorker passes to side control on Rinaldi's left side with 3:10 on the clock. Thirty seconds later, Gillespie steps over to full mount, then back-mount when Rinaldi rolls over. Rinaldi turns onto his right side, slices a knee inside and reclaims half guard. Gillespie continues to hunt for a choke, first framing up an arm-triangle, then a guillotine, and finally abandoning the attempt to retake mount. Rinaldi rolls to his knees, so Gillespie stands up and knees his body while holding him against the wall. Gillespie is on Rinaldi's back again with 30 seconds left, and this time the prospect is going for the finish, teeing off with a heavy stream of left hands. Rinaldi looks done, flattened out on his stomach, covering his head as Gillespie pounds away, and referee Donnie Jessup decides he's seen enough.

The Official Result

Gregor Gillespie def. Jordan Rinaldi via TKO (Punches) R1 4:46

Dennis Bermudez vs. Andre Fili

Round 1

Bermudez bounces forward on Fili, bobbing and weaving as he tries to close the distance against the taller man. Fili flicks out jabs, using his range to keep Bermudez outside and then stuffing the wrestler's first double-leg shot. Bermudez keeps coming forward, double-pumps his jab in Fili's face and then rips the body of Fili with a big left hook. Bermudez get double underhooks and wraps up Fili with a tight bodylock on the fence. Fili keeps his balance as Bermudez works to lift and trip the Team Alpha Male fighter. Fili breaks up the bodylock and separates, only to find himself eating a hook, then a pair of jabs, another hook. Fili shoots and completes a quick takedown, but Bermudez is back on his feet within seconds. Bermudez steps into the pocket to deliver a low kick and eats a stiff right in return. "Dennis the Menace" offers a brief clinch on the fence as the 145ers hit the final minute of round one. A pair of outside low kicks get Fili stumbling, but it's "Touchy" who gets the last takedown of the round, plowing Bermudez to the ground in the final 20 seconds.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Bermudez
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Fili
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Bermudez

Round 2

Bermudez times a Fili uppercut perfectly, slipping the punch and throwing a jab that snaps back Fili's head, then driving inside to shove the taller man against the fence. Fili shoves Bermudez away, circles off and then catches a low kick which he converts to a takedown. Again, Bermudez is back on his feet in a hurry, then jamming Fili against the wall. Bermudez tries to lift and slam Fili with a high-crotch single, but the lanky Fili keeps his balance once again. The fighters trade jabs, Bermudez lands a low kick, then another; Fili times the second kick and slugs the New Yorker with a straight left counter. Half the round remains in what has been an all-action second frame. Fili has a takedown blocked, but he makes Bermudez pay with a cracking hook on the break. Bermudez digs an underhook and drives Fili against the wall, then gives the Californian a pair of knees to the midsection from the Thai clinch. Fili catches a leg kick from Bermudez and converts it into yet another takedown with 45 seconds left. Bermudez is on his feet 15 seconds later, pushing Fili against the cage and zapping him with an overhand right as time runs out.

Sherdog Scores

Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Fili
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Bermudez

Round 3

Fili sticks a long jab as he reaches over the top of a Bermudez low kick. It's still Bermudez bringing the pressure at the start of the final round, but Fili is looking increasingly sharp in his counterstriking. Bermudez continues to chop at Fili's legs; Fili seems to be showing some wear from the strikes, stepping gingerly, but he fires a left high kick upstairs that's partially blocked by Bermudez's right glove. Fili scores a quick takedown, can't keep Bermudez on the ground, and "Dennis the Menace" shoves Fili against the cage as they stand. Bermudez delivers a clinch knee that lands hard to Fili's cup, and referee Kevin MacDonald pauses the action. The foul is deemed accidental, so no point is deducted from Bermudez, and the action resumes after about 90 seconds. Bermudez lands a hard inside leg kick, sticks his left hand in Fili's grill and then comes inside for another clinch. Fili breaks out in a hurry and circles away, and Bermudez is right on his tail. Bermudez gets over-aggressive in his forward march and walks into a pair of stiff jabs. Bermudez gives it back to Fili with a hard jab of his own, then digs into the body with a left hook. Pushing Fili against the fence, Bermudez changes levels and finishes the fight with one more double-leg takedown. Bermudez goes for a last-second armbar, but Fili escapes with ease.

Referee Dan Miragliotta is the third man in the cage for tonight's 185-pound main event, with judges Sal D'Amato, Steve Elliott and Cardo Urso scoring the fight at cageside. Souza takes the center of the cage as southpaw Brunson circles cautiously to the left, both men testing the distance with pawing hands. "Jacare" backs up to avoid a hard, straight punch down the center, then gives Brunson a smile and a wave. Brunson takes a kick to the body, whiffs on an uppercut and gets clipped with a counter right hook. Halfway through the opening round, things remain sparse and tense between the middleweights. Brunson tries to rush Souza and gets taken down, only to spring back to his feet seconds later. Brunson connects with a pair of punches on his next charge, but he eats another counter hook from the backpedaling Brazilian. Suddenly, Jacare wheels up with a right high kick that blasts through Brunson's raised left hand and sends the American stumbling away. Souza sees that he's got Brunson hurt and drops him with a pair of punches. The follow-up shots on the ground send Brunson slumping forward, and referee Miragliotta steps in to stop the fight. Some five years after their first encounter, "Jacare" Souza has done it again with another first-round knockout of Derek Brunson.
