UFC on Fox 3 earned an average of 2.4 million viewers on Saturday night, a stark decrease from both of the promotion’s previous efforts on the network.
The event’s average viewership represents a drop of 2 million viewers when compared to January’s UFC on Fox 2, which attracted 4.7 million observers. The UFC’s inaugural effort on Fox this past November averaged 5.7 million viewers, an all-time high for mixed martial arts on network television.
Competing with both the NBA playoffs and the Floyd Mayweather-Miguel Cotto boxing undercard, the two-hour UFC on Fox 3 broadcast averaged a 1.6 rating in the male 18-34 demographic, also a decline from the promotion’s first two Fox outings, which averaged ratings of 4.3 and 3.2, respectively.
UFC on Fox 4 is expected to take place Aug. 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will likely be headlined by a middleweight contest between former Bellator champion Hector Lombard and fellow heavy-hitter Brian Stann.
