A lightweight clash has been added to the UFC on Fox 31 lineup, as Edson Barboza will square off against Dan Hooker in Milwaukee on Dec. 15.
Promotion officials announced the pairing via nzherald.co.nz on Wednesday. UFC on Fox 31 takes place at Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center and will air on Fox Network following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. A headliner has not been confirmed.
Barboza is looking to rebound after back-to-back lopsided losses to wrestlers Kevin Lee and Khabib Nurmagomedov. The 32-year-old Brazilian is 13-6 within the Las Vegas-based promotion, with notable wins over the likes of Beneil Dariush, Gilbert Melendez, Anthony Pettis, Paul Felder and Ross Pearson, to name a few.
Hooker, meanwhile, has won four straight in the Octagon. Most recently, “The Hangman” scored a first-round knockout of Gilbert Burns at UFC 226. All four of the Auckland, New Zealand, native’s victories during his current streak have come inside the distance.
