A bantamweight confrontation between Mike Easton and T.J. Dillashaw is now on tap for UFC on FoX 5, promotion officials announced Saturday.
Verbal agreements are in place for the bout, which takes place Dec. 8 at Seattle’s Key Arena. Headlined by a lightweight title collision pitting champion Benson Henderson against challenger Nate Diaz, the evening’s main draw airs live on the Fox network.
Easton, 28, rides an eight-fight winning streak heading into his showdown with Dillashaw. “The Hulk” joined the UFC’s bantamweight ranks last year, stopping Byron Bloodworth in his debut before taking a majority decision from Jared Papazian to kick off 2012. Most recently, Easton earned a unanimous verdict over Ivan Menjivar at UFC 148 on July 7.
Dillashaw introduced himself to UFC fans last year as a cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14, advancing to the season finale before suffering a technical knockout defeat to John Dodson in the bantamweight finals. The 26-year-old responded by posting a pair of victories in his last two outings, battering Walel Watson in February before submitting Vaughan Lee on July 11 at UFC on Fuel TV 4.
