Jorge Santiago (Pictures) vs. Justin Levens (Pictures)
R1
Both fighters looked ready to trade from the beginning. At around the two minute mark, Santiago landed a right hand that put Levens on the mat. Working his way back up, Levens then fell victim to a right knee from the clinch followed up by another knee and a few punches for good measure to end the contest at 2:13 of the first round.

Kris Rotharmel vs Rob MacDonald (Pictures)

The match starts with both fighters looking for the takedown. Trading trips from the clinch, MacDonald scored the first of several takedowns. After a brief scramble, Rob landed in full-mount, where he worked the back and eventually returning to mount, where he forced a tap at 4:01 of the first stanza with a textbook armbar.

Jon Fitch (Pictures) vs. Thiago Alves (Pictures)
R1
Exciting first period with Fitch taking the round on Sherdog.com's scorecard. The round started with Alves stunning Fitch with a punch then jumping to a guillotine that looked deep. Fitch recovered, and pretty much pounded away for the rest of the round.


R2
Fitch with an early takedown to kickoff the second stanza. Showing good control, Fitch moved to mount then his opponent's back. Fighting off the rear naked choke, Alves was able to get out the back door and on to his feet. Fitch then landed a left and right upkick in quick succession that put Alves on the canvas. Fitch then followed up with some pound to seel the deal, forcing a ref stoppage at 4:37 of the second rd.

Branden Lee Hinkle (Pictures) vs. Jason Lambert (Pictures)
R1
Hinkle starts the fight with a quick takedown. Working from the top position, Hinkle was controlling well and throwing a few punches. Lambert tried to escape the position, only to be suplexed on his head. Later in the round, Lambert was able to get top position on the Hammer House fighter, where he landed effective ground and pound for the duration of the opening period. The fight was stopped after the first round due to accumulative damage, with Lambert being declared the winner.

Dave Menne (Pictures) vs. Josh Koscheck (Pictures)
R1
Menne works Koscheck's left leg with a few kicks in the opening minute. After some circling and feeling out, Koscheck lands a huge overhand right that hurts Menne. Koscheck spends the next 3 1/2 minutes pounding away from his opponent's guard while taking the round on Sherdog.com's scorecard.

R2
Again Menne works on Koscheck's left leg with kicks . Nice one-two down the pipe lands for Josh, followed by a takedown attempt that is countered by a guillotine that the TUF veteran easily escapes from. Koscheck dominates the rest of the round from the top position with control and pound as Menne retreats to his corner after the bell bleeding and looking roughed up.

R3
Koscheck with a takedown to start the final round. Menne nearly finishes the fight with a toe hold but Josh was able to kickout and escape. Koscheck, like the previous rounds, rode out the rest of the period in the top position. Koscheck walks away the victor after earning scores of 30-27 (twice) and 29-28.

Jorge Gurgel (Pictures) vs. Mark Hominick (Pictures)
R1
Jorge comes out looking for the takedown to start the first stanza. Hominick looks very composed as he creates angles and throws crisp, straight punches. Gurgel tries to pull guard but the Canadian backs out and away. Nice right straight to the body and a short left land for Hominick. Gurgel starting to get wild with his striking but Hominick's defense is solid so far. Sherdog.com scores round 1 10-9 Hominick.


R2
Gurgel shoots right away but Hominick sprawls beautifully. Hominick throwing a right hand lead while Jorge fires in a low kick that lands hard. Body-head combo for the Canadian scores. Gurgel now bleeding over his left eye. Again the Brazilian shoots but Mark backs away. Nice head movement and a counter body shot land for Hominick. Another nice right straight to the body. Hominick catches a Gurgel kick and sweeps the other foot to put his opponent down as the bell sounds to end the second phase. Hominick 10-9


R3
Low kick lands for the Brazilian to start the final stage. Hominick, clearly the more refined striker, peppers the TUF veteran with lefts and rights. Double jab and a straight right from the Canadian score. Gurgel chases Hominick wildly around the cage while the Canadian retreats. Hominick is following his game plan very well, as he picks his shots and runs away before Gurgel has a chance to counter with haymakers. Gurgel lands a nice inside leg kick. Another solid kick lands for the Brazilian. Nice exchange of punches in the final seconds of the bout. Sherdog.com scores the close round to Hominick, who showed better technique, while the Brazilian was more aggressive.

Rashad Evans (Pictures) vs. Stephan Bonnar (Pictures)
R1
Bonnar starts with an akward axe kick that doesn't connect. Rashad scores a takedown into Bonnar's closed guard. Referee Mario Yamasaki stands up the fighters. Rashad scores a double leg slam takedown with Bonnar quickly looking for a kimura. Bonnar gets to his feet but is slammed again. Big left hand scores for Rashad from Stephan's open guard. Bonnar rises to his feet once more but is slammed hard to the canvas for the third time in the round. Sherdog.com scores it 10-9 Rashad.


R2
Bonnar now boxing from a distance and landing a few jabs. Another takedown from Evans. Bonar slips back to his feet while Evans went for his back. Bonnar unloads a glancing combo but Evans presses forward. Evans catches a spinning back kick attempt and puts the fight on the canvas. Bonnar is active from his back but Rashad controls and almost takes his back as the round ends. Another clear 10-9 for Evans.


R3
Bonnar presses forward with a fast flurry but Rashad powers forward for another takedown. Bonnar goes for an armbar but Rashad resists. Rashad passes into side control and lands several good hammer shots. Rashad back into Bonnar's open guard, lands some nice pound. Bonnar goes for a triangle but Evans defends. Bonnar tries to pull guard and finish with a guillotine but Rashad escapes as the fight ends. Rashad wins majority decision (29-29 30-27 29-28)

Anderson Silva vs. Chris Leben (Pictures)
R1
Anderson Silva started out with two hard jabs that hurt Chris right from the start. A few more jabs, a few right hooks, a uppercut or two followed by a headick and vicious knee ended this quickly. Incredible Octagon debut for Anderson Silva.

Jonathan Goulet (Pictures) vs. Luke Cummo
R1
Goulet and Cummo trade a few kicks in the center of the cage to start the first round. Goulet with a takedown into Cummo's guard. The Canadian moved quickly to side control but Luke got him back to his guard. Luke looking for a triangle. Goulet controlling from the top and landing elbows from short range. Incredible position transitions from Goulet as he moves from side to mount to back then back to side with little effort. First round is all Goulet - 10-9


R2
Luke drops Goulet with a kick and a punch. Cummo now all over Goulet. Over-under control from the back now for Luke. Luke nearly forces a tap with a guillotine but Goulet escapes. Goulet now on top in half guard. Nice elbows from Goulet from half-guard before moving to mount. Now in side control, Goulet lands a big elbow that hurts Cummo. Luke now bleeding badly. Goulet takes another round - 10-9.


R3
Goulet scores a takedown against the cage to start the final stanza. Still controlling, Goulet secures nearly every dominant top position, as a helpless Cummo fights off any chance of a submission. Luke reverses and takes the Canadian's back with a body triangle. Goulet nearly was forced to tap to a RNC but he was able to escape right before the horn sounded to signal the end of the contest.
