Unbeaten Contender Julian Williams to Headline Sept. 22 Fox Sports 1 Card

Boxing continues its resurgence in the U.S. as Premier Boxing Champions on Fox Sports 1’s Toe-To-Toe Tuesdays will have another intriguing card on Sept. 22. Headlined by an alluring junior middleweight showdown between undefeated Julian Williams and Luciano Cuello, it should be a solid night of professional fisticuffs.

Williams, from Philadelphia, has been on a tear thus far in his career. He’s looked superb in not only pummeling regional opposition, but he’s also toppled durable veterans like Joachim Alcine and Freddy Hernandez as well as promising then-unbeaten prospect Eliezer Gonzalez. Williams (20-0-1, 12 KOs) is considered by most to be one of the best young contenders in the sport, but he should have his hands full with Cuello.

"I'm excited to be headlining this show. It's a good kind of pressure and I'm ready for it," Williams said in a statement. "I hope that my hometown of Philadelphia comes out to support me because I plan on putting on an electric performance. I have a lot of respect for Cuello, but I haven't lost a round in eight fights and I plan on keeping that going."

Cuello (35-3, 17 KOs) has won three straight since dropping a unanimous 10-round decision to Willie Nelson two years ago, though he hasn’t yet competed in 2015. Still, Cuello is a crafty Argentinean veteran with tons of experience. His only other pro losses came at the hands of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

"I am very pleased with this opportunity and I plan on pulling off the upset," Cuello countered. "Williams is very talented but he has never been in deep waters with someone like me. I will be too much for him."

In the co-featured bout, unbeaten Mexican contender Moises Flores (23-0, 16 KOs) will lock horns with Luis Emanuel Cusolito (21-1, 19 KOs), a powerful knockout machine from Buenos Aires who is riding a seven-fight winning streak. They will meet in a 12-round super bantamweight bout.

The card will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. It will be held inside the Sands Casino Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Penn. Tickets are on sale now and rang in price from $45-100.
