HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Fedor
Emelianenko injured his left hand during his heavyweight bout
with Brett
Rogers Saturday at Strikeforce/M-1 Global “Fedor vs. Rogers,”
Sherdog.com has learned from a source close to the fighter’s
camp.
Sherdog.com initially reported that the Russian heavyweight suffered a broken nose as well, but his camp is now saying it’s been determined that the nose is not broken.
After attending the post-fight news conference, Emelianenko was sent to a local hospital. He returned later the same evening with his left arm in a soft cast nearly up to his elbow.
The source said the first examination could not determine if Emelianenko had broken bones in his hand, but it now appears that he likely has tendon or ligament damage.
