Lorenz Larkin will replace the injured Dong Hyun Kim and face Neil Magny at UFC 202.
The Los Angeles Daily News first reported the new welterweight matchup on Wednesday. UFC 202 takes place on Aug. 20 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor.
The 29-year-old Larkin has won three of his last four Octagon appearances since moving to 170 pounds. He last competed at UFC Fight NIght 88 “Almeida vs. Garbrandt,” where he captured a split verdict over Jorge Masvidal. “The Monsoon” is 4-5 during his promotional tenure overall.
After dropping two of his first three UFC bouts, Magny has won 10 of his last 11 fights, with his only defeat coming at the hands of Demian Maia at UFC 190. Since then, the Grudge Training Center representative has garnered successive triumphs over Erick Silva, Kelvin Gastelum and Hector Lombard.
