After more than a two-year hiatus, Magomedrasul Khasbulaev will return to active competition at WSOF 21.

Promotion officials initially announced on Wednesday that the Dagestani known as “Frodo” will face former featherweight titlist Rick Glenn on the June 5 card, which takes place at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. However, shortly after that announcement, MMAFighting.com reported that Glenn withdrew from the bout due to injury. WSOF officials are seeking a replacement opponent for Khasbulaev.

WSOF 21 will feature a pair of title fights, as Smealinho Rama faces Blagoi Ivanov for heavyweight gold while Lance Palmer defends the 145-pound strap against Chris Horodecki. The evening’s main card will air on the NBC Sports Network.

Khasbulaev went 5-0 under the Bellator MMA banner from October 2012 to April 2013, including triumphs over Marlon Sandro and Mike Richman. Bellator released Khasbulaev from his contract this past December following a lengthy struggle with visa issues. The 28-year-old featherweight is 21-5 as a professional overall.

Glenn, meanwhile, had a 13-fight unbeaten streak halted at WSOF 16, where he relinquished the 145-pound championship to Palmer via rear-naked choke in round three. The Roufusport product owns a 15-3-1 career mark, including 13 triumphs by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
