Urijah Faber knows when he would like to return to the Octagon. Now it’s just a matter of finding him an opponent.
According to a report from UFC Tonight, “The California Kid” would like to fight at either "The Ultimate Fighter 22" finale on Dec. 11 or at UFC 194 on Dec. 12, but at the moment, the promotion has not been able to find a willing dance partner for Faber.
The “TUF 22” finale takes place in Las Vegas and is headlined by a matchup pitting Chad Mendes, Faber’s Team Alpha Male training partner, against Frankie Edgar. UFC 194 also takes place in Sin City and features a featherweight title unification bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
Faber is currently taping Season 22 of “TUF,” where he coaches opposite McGregor in a U.S. vs. Europe team format. The latest iteration of the reality show is set to premiere on Fox Sports 1 on Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET.
Faber last appeared at UFC Fight Night in Manila, where he dropped a five-round verdict to Edgar on May 15. The 36-year-old bantamweight has won six of his last eight contests.
