Versus MMA Returns to Direct TV
Sherdog.com Staff Mar 15, 2010
The Versus Network, which broadcasts World Extreme Cagefighting
events, returned to Direct TV on Monday, following the resolution
of a six-month contract dispute between Comcast, which owns Versus,
and the satellite television carrier.
Versus, which has aired WEC events since June 2007, was pulled from Direct TV’s line-up on Sept. 1.
“VERSUS will return to the same DIRECTV programming packages it was in at the end of August 2009,” read a statement released jointly by both entities.
Versus’ return to Direct TV comes just in time for Sunday’s live broadcast of UFC on Versus 1, which marks the promotion’s debut on the sports-related network. Light heavyweights Brandon Vera and Jon Jones will meet in the main event. UFC on Versus 1 starts at 10 p.m. EST.
