Video: Ian Heinisch Subs Lucas Rota With Slick Shoulder Lock in LFA 10 Main Event

With a main card filled largely with decisions, unbeaten middleweight prospect Ian Heinisch pulled off a terrific submission in the main event of Legacy Fighting Alliance 10. Heinisch dominated Lucas Rota from the start and wasted little time in taking him down and from there, it just a matter of time before the powerful wrestler got the finish to electrify the scattered crowd inside Massari Arena in Pueblo, Colorado.

Heinisch grinded his way into full mount with Rota’s head against the cage and when he did, he made life miserable for the Brazilian. With all of his weight crushing down on Rota’s chest, “The Hurricane” quickly scooted to side control into a kasa gatame. From there, he latched on a key lock with his legs and immediately forced the tap, the end coming officially at 2:38 of the first.

In the co-feature, flyweight contender Nick Urso out-brawled Brandon Royval for three rounds and eked out a split decision. The fight was as close as they come, but Urso had better overall control of the action and landed the better strikes. Two of the three judges favored him with scores of 30-27 while the third had it Royval 29-28.

Jerome Rivera was the superior man against fellow bantamweight Zac Riley as he dominated him in round two and three. Rivera scored takedowns in each and slammed plenty of punches and elbows onto his foe to win a unanimous decision via tallies of 29-28, 30-27 and 30-26.

In other action on the AXS TV-televised main card, Slobodan Maksimovic toppled Dominic Montoya by unanimous decision with scores of 29-28 (thrice); Andrew Tenneson submitted Andrew Yates via textbook guillotine choke just 49 seconds into their fight; Adam Martinez took out Maikel Perez at 2:22 of the second, also form a guillotine choke; and Cody Yohn defeated Mike Jones via split decision with scores of 29-28 across the board.
