Troubled former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Jason Miller missed weight by 24 pounds for scheduled middleweight title fight against fellow Octagon veteran Luke Barnatt at Venator FC 3.

“Mayhem” initially checked in at 209 pounds for the bout, which was then scrapped. Instead, Barnatt will defend his belt against middleweight Stefan Croitoru, who was supposed to fight earlier on the card, according to multiple reports.

According to MMAFighting.com, Venator FC reportedly offered Barnatt 30 percent of Miller’s purse and an additional five thousand euros to remain in the fight against “Mayhem”, but the British fighter declined the offer. Instead, Miller, who weighed in at 205 pounds five hours after his first try, will lock horns with Mattia Schiavolin in a light heavyweight contest. Miller will weigh-in again on Saturday, at which time he cannot tip the scales heavier than 207 pounds.

Venator FC 3 takes place in Milan, Italy, and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Rousimar Palhares and Emil Weber Meek. Matt Hamill will square off with Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in another featured contest, while familiar names such as Igor Araujo, Karl Amoussou, Cody McKenzie and Che Mills are also scheduled to compete.

Video footage of Friday’s weigh-in fiasco was captured by MMA Latest News.
