Ultimate Fighting Championship and Bellator MMA veteran Melvin Guillard absorbed a brutal beatdown at the hands of Israel Adesanya at Australian FC 20 on Friday.

Guillard, who competed primarily at lightweight for most of his career before moving to 170 pounds in Bellator, was clearly undersized against the 6-foot-2 Adesanya. Adesanya improves to 8-0 with the victory; seven of his triumphs have come via knockout or technical knockout.
The 34-year-old “Young Assassin” is now just 1-7 with two no contests in his last 10 appearances. His lone victory during that time was a second-round TKO triumph over Gesias Cavalcante at World Series of Fighting 11 in July 2014. Guillard peaked during one UFC stretch from March 2008 to July 2011, when he won eight of his nine bouts in the Octagon, including wins over Evan Dunham, Jeremy Stephens, Gleison Tibau and Dennis Siver.
