WEC Turns to Page
WEC has officially announced that Greg Jackson pupil Damacio Page (Pictures) will face Scott Jorgensen (Pictures) on their Feb. 13 card at the
Santa Ana Star Center in Albuquerque, N.M., following an injury to
Jesse Moreng (Pictures).
Moreng was forced to withdraw from the bout last Thursday after he sustained a broken bone in his foot while training in his native Arizona.
Page competed only once in 2007, where he took a first round knockout over Rod Montoya in March, a bout which served as the focus for the debut episode of TapouT's cable television series. The 25-year-old Page is also tentatively scheduled to compete on TKO's Feb. 28 card at the Bell Centre in Montreal against Justin Tavernini.
Jorgensen, a former Pac-10 conference wrestling champion, last saw action in July, where he took a commanding unanimous decision victory over Chris David (Pictures) on the undercard of a ProElite ShoXC feature.
The 135-pound contest will be part of the untelevised undercard for the Feb. 13 bill.
