WEC, UFC Competitors Cleared for Drugs of Abuse
All 22 participants from Sunday's World Extreme Cagefighting 34
"Faber vs. Pulver" event at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif.
were cleared for drugs of abuse, according to an email distributed
on Wednesday by California State Athletic Commission.
The cast of WEC 34 -- which featured a rousing five-round title defense between featherweight champion Urijah Faber (Pictures) and Jens Pulver (Pictures) -- joins the competitors from UFC 84 "Ill Will," who all passed urinalysis testing for drugs of abuse and steroids following the May 24 event in Las Vegas. On that card, UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn (Pictures) bested former titleholder Sean Sherk (Pictures) after three rounds of brisk striking.
Steroid test results for WEC 34 are still pending.
