WSOF 23 Weigh-in Results: Justin Gaethje, Luis Palomino Cleared for Title Rematch

One fight was not enough to settle their score, so World Series of Fighting lightweight champion Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino will meet for the second time in six months.

Gaethje, who stopped the “Baboon” with third-round leg kicks and punches in March, tipped the scales at 154.7 pounds ahead of his five-round title defense against Palomino (154.2) in the WSOF 23 main event on Friday at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix. Co-headliners David Branch (204) and Teddy Holder (202.4) also met their contracted weight requirements at Thursday’s official weigh-in, as they prep for their showdown for the vacant World Series of Fighting light heavyweight crown.

WSOF 23 “Gaethje vs. Palomino 2” -- which airs live on the NBC Sports Network at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT -- will also feature a bantamweight scrap pairing Jackson-Wink MMA prospect Timur Valiev (135.9) with Tito Jones (134.7), a catchweight clash pitting AMC Pankration’s Ben Fodor (161.6) against Roberto Yong (157.3) and a lightweight tilt matching Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Brian Foster (155.7) with the unbeaten LaRue Burley (154.9).

The WSOF 23 undercard will stream to Sherdog.com at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT: Vagab Vagabov (184.9) vs. Brian Grinnell (181.9), Clifford Starks (186) vs. Krasimir Mladenov (185.7), Matthew Frincu (170.3) vs. Danny Davis Jr. (169.5), Andres Ponce (137.5) vs. David Nuzzo (136), Randy Steinke (135.9) vs. Joey Miolla (135) and Benny Madrid (160.3) vs. Jeff Fletcher (154.2).
